Instalation Failure?

wasn't sure if this should go here or in tech support, but since Beta4a came out I can't join anny games on stream, I have both the beta4 and beta4a installers downloaded and ran, but whenever I go to join a game it says that my client.dll or something close to that doesn't match?

maybe I"m just screwing up and it's a failure on my side, but I'd appreciate any help..

come to think of it it probally is on my side since everyone else is playing away lol

    There's still some servers that haven't updated to the b4a patch, and that should show up just to the right of the names section in the server lookup. The correct ones should say "NS 3.0 Beta 4a", while the old ones will say "Natural Selection v3.0 beta 4". Hope this helps.

    Yes actually I was trying that, but I can join neither the 4 or the 4a games as of the time that 4a was released, before that I was playing 4 games fine, thanx for trying though

    is there any way to switch where this is posted or is that admin only? lol sorry I'm rather new

    Odds are if this really bothers a moderator, they'll move it. Otherwise, it'll stay here.

    Have you tried reinstalling? Perhaps something was just icky with the install you downloaded. It doesn't happen often, but perhaps you got some bad data and it b0rked something. Rare, but entirely possible. Have you ever had problems with NS before? Any particular hardware concerns that might be causing trouble, off the top of your head (old video card, old windows version, etc)? Or maybe NS isn't the problem at all... can you join other Steam games?

    actually I've found out the problem, but thanx for the help, apparently, when I ran the 4a installer it installed it into the Halflife directory , but not into the stream directory O.o considering it only runs though stream I assued it would install directly to there, but I went back and manually changed the instalation location to where the older version of the files were, although I still don't see why it wouldn't let me join the older version maps because the files in there should have still been from beta4, but oh well

    lol it's working now so thats good at least, althoug hI still can't see any text while running in OpenGL mode, but thats just a minor detail
