Models For Maps

People takeup the challange?
Levels as you probly know are very important to a game, They make up the biggest part of the playability of a game. It's great that people are useing spare time to make all sorts of custom models for weapons, players and structures but has anyone thought about ever useing that time to produce models for eye candy in maps, To help add more detail to maps that world brushes cant do!

Is their a modeler out their willing to take up the task of createing ready to use models for future maps of ns?

If anyone is willing to take up the challange to make maps look more cool then try these:

It's the same old lighting in every map, Texlights, Squares with a light texture plasted on the face.
What about someone createing a veriety of modelled light fittings. Such as industrial hang lamps, Emergency lights and so on.

What about things relateing to communications?
Would be nice for a mapper to beable to put things in such as satalite dishes on roofs or in out door areas and other misc equipment.

Mappers have their limmits to how many brushes we can use, Im sure it would be most greatly appreciated if misc things sutch as a veriety of moddel barrels where created for different enviroments, like Wastehandleing with some toxic symbols and stains, Cargo like 4 blue barrels on a pallet. Such detailed stuff used for cover and to hide behind, The models would be great visual eyecandy and a mapper only has to put a simple clip brush round it to make it solid to achive detail without exceeding the limmits of the HL engine.

What about a veriety of different sizes of rotateing fan blades, some fuse boxes, wall mounted fire exstingishers, flat panel celing mounted screens faceing down at an angle, Radio towers, masts, gas cilinders, detailed crates, pipes same height as a 256 textures to use vertically in reqular corridoors or peice sections together, corner pipes, iron/steal supports.

Just think up allsorts of random objects, look at exsisting official maps an think up objects that could be placed here or their or even replace exsisting brushwork.

Models could save a mapper a lot of resource and allow them to make their maps bigger by adding more rooms and corridoors basides more nicer to walk through.

Come on dudes!

Yes, Searching brought up many results, lots of models but unfortunaly only 2 good downloads

chrono5454 seems to have made some very cool sets of pipes but with no textured releases at all.

Search has not brought up what im looking for or what would be most commonly used in a map by other people too or even officially. Like I listed above, More common things are things such as Fuse Boxes, Lights, Control Pannels and so on!

A website to host and catogarize any creations made would be great too, If someone could make models and actually release them this time, it would be very nice. (Chought chrono5454 * Chought Pipes * )

Pallette. Modelled, meshed and skinned in about 30 minutes.

Let me know if you want any tweaks and I'll compile it after you're happy with it.

Edit: Before anyone points out the missing faces I've spotted them. D'Oh! <now fixed>

Edit2: Replacing with render of fixed model

unfortunately, the polycount on those pipes is about a gazillion - that's why Cronos never released them ;p
