    Easy, buggy.

In clan vs pub play, there's are two factors to realize:

    A) Clan play only has 6 player teams, pubs usually have much more.

    B) The skill and organization of the teams are excellent.

Subsequently, you must also realize that:

    A) Your marines need to stay out longer in the field.

    B) Upgrades aren't as cost effective.

    C) Mistakes hurt, big time. I mean, absolutely no mercy is given if you make the slightest slip up.

Try PUGing, it's what I'm planning on doing.

Competitive Commanding is a lot more nerve wracking then public commanding.

There is more pressure to keep your troops alive, and get them the neccesary equipmen to achieve victory.

The aliens are generally smart enough to pick up on the comm's faults.

Battles are more quicker in clan matches due to superior aim, so the commander has to be faster than the normal pub comm to get out meds.

Nice tidbit on commanders who love to hand shotties around as soon as the first fade is spotted. Some fades are a mere skulk with a bigger hit-area while some are a complete and utter nightmare. I hate you faders BTW =-p

clan matches are godly... aliens swarm u and u have to keep up ur gaurd... as a clan leader, i sometimes comm and its AMAZING how loyal some rines are when ur comm... u tell them to do it, they get it done no matter what (unless its suicide!)

they do what u say, build what u say, go where u say etc etc... btw sparkie ur da SHOTTIE KING! no onos can withstand ur might!!!! <!--emo&::asrifle::--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html//emoticons/asrifle.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='asrifle.gif' /><!--endemo--> <!--emo&::onos::--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html//emoticons/tiny.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='tiny.gif' /><!--endemo-->

like rapier7 said... one slip up and it means a minimum of loosing one rt... the max is that u are at there hive, mess up and then they are all over ur base...

The interesting thing is this whole thread is useless.... as is the fighting involved in it...

There are just too many human factors for anything to be better than anything else.... plus the name RTS, involves strategy

NOTHING IS ABSOLUTELY ALWAYS, or even MOST OF THE TIME BETTER THAN ANYTHING ELSE

Thats the cool thing, its all about adapting..... Fades.... adapt....... HA? adapt, JETPACKS? adapt, BATTLE GORGING? adapt BLA blA BLA? ADAPT!! ADAPT! ADAPT!!

How you choose to adapt is up to you, and is also dependant on other factors such as team skill, gametime, resource nodes, stored resources, time to effective adaptation.... bla bla bla

Really, if you look up the term natural selection, its a theory that through ADAPTATION, only the strongest survive... call me a moron, but im sensing some hidden message there...... <!--emo&:)--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html//emoticons/smile.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='smile.gif' /><!--endemo--> <!--emo&:)--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html//emoticons/smile.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='smile.gif' /><!--endemo-->

The best comm is the one who can work with his team against the other's to effectively ADAPT...

Apply common sense to every situation that you encounter, then if you are the better team (not just comm) you will win.

Marine tactics are quite seriously that simple.

Really? I was under the impression that this was a public forum?

He has EVERY right to do it and if he makes it his business, it IS his business.
Correct any percieved mistakes in the guide, real or not, but please don't, do NOT, tell people what they can and can not do in a public forum. The mods will be out of work...

I must have missed the thread where YOU tried to help out pub commanders... please direct me to it as I would LOVE to get a different perspective.

So he called it Definitive... So what? Are ou worried that people will read this and ONLY this and everyone will tart sucking at commanding and the game will die and the clans will loose their l33tness and omg bacon cumadnor! F4!!

Take it easy! He did his best to help, TRY to be construtive... You know, like in the start of the thread? Before you lost your temper (Or whatever happened).

I think that people need to unplug heads from rears.

This is a template strategy. Of course sometimes you need to do things differently. However, for starting coms, it's all a bit overwhelming. Where do you start? How much do you spend on your troops? Etc. This is for those people. The advice "it all depends on the circumstances" is useless if you don't have a loose guide to deviate from.

Rapier7 has done amazing things with comming, this is GussishTheRambo for yah. He actually knows the points of comming though I hand out meds/ammo more I rarely if ever hand out shotties but get upgrades, usually try to get someone to mine up base and a welder or two and the marines are off to RT hunt.

There is always a weak point to a strategy, idiotically picking off his strategy is like saying Zergling rushes can always be stopped, it's not true if your teching.

I'm surprised an admin hasn't found the flames offensive and locked this, now, let's keep it clean.

The point is that Rapier7 is extremely arrogant and refuses to take ANY constructive comments towards his "definitive" guide, in addition to naming himself supreme commander ... If someone disagrees with him, they are either noobish or elitist because he is always correct. On other threads, where people mention other strategies that fit the situation, Rapier7 discounts them and calls the person a noob (eg. Use of turrets).

Ironic how someone with no qualifications can call someone a newb and not be elitist, but when someone from the clan community does the same thing, its taboo, and wrong.

Interesting things that go on in our beloved Natural Selection community.
