Horrible Lag/fps Drops?

<div class="IPBDescription">Am I the only one?</div> I've noticed that since updating to Beta4, I'm getting A LOT of lag when games start to get towards the end (large battles, lots of people) People are jumping all over the place. Im scared to go onos as I've been killed more than once due to the lag. Everytime I run around a corner, I pop back to where I started.

Is anyone else getting this?

    Ye, having the same problem, only happens when there's lots happening. I get lag spikes up to 600ms at what seems to be regular intervals, but when there's lots of action my choke goes up, this also causes my mouse to lag, think it may be more of a Steam issue though.

    I haven't experienced any lag except the annoying mouse lag that came with the steam. Since a lot of players started to play ns again in b4 lag can be caused by full servers which weren't usually full before b4. So I think you just should try some other servers aswell than just your favourite ones.     Yes, I have the same problem. It might be steam though, a new patch came yesterday. It's almost impossible to play. Fading is out of the question, becausee every time I'm trying to blink away, I pop back half a second and take the wrong turn because of it. Dying in the process of course.

    This is exacly what my moms comp does, making NS unplayable there...

    Tho i think it is steam related, since i never had any mouse lag on won. any ns version.

    I've gotten it too. Just after beta4 is released, my ping is now spiking between 20-600 and my fps seems to have dropped from straight 75 to 30-50.

    ok heres the answer ive told most people.and they all had same problem


    TYPE rate IN CONSOLE

    will probobly be a 5 digit number

    then TYPE rate 200000 IN CONSOLE

    thats a 2,followed by five 0s

    If you have a MS mouse/keyboard set point32 and/or type32 to high priority in the task manager.

    What about if you have modem? lol i've read all the guides about how to set up rate cl_updaterate and blah blah blah

    nothing helped..
