I agree with your blink cloak idea, too. Reduce the sound it makes while you're at it and I might start playing fade (I usually just stick to skulk, gorge and lerk...occasionally go onos, too)
i think that since lerk flight is so much easier now, theres really no need to glide anymore. there should be a bonus for gliding, where the lerk makes no noise at all moving down a hallway (meaning taking off the snarl and noises lerks make sometimes).
fades blink is a little bit fast, but in a large room its necessary. instead of changing blink, marine jetpacks should be changed so they can accelerate forward easier (make them more efficient, maybe like the glide feature on the lerk), this way jetpacks will be implimented more and will be more effective against the fades.
remember though, fades cost 50 res, the same as a hive (plus the cost to gorge), so they should be well worth their pay. if u cant kill fades, try to prevent them by killing RT's and delaying the aliens from fading.

Tel me exactly how you're going to hve jetpacks researched by the time the first Fade appears? It's impossible. Blink is good. Really good. Keep it at hive one, nerf the Fade's armor/damage and lower Fade cost. I hate how people say aliens are supposed to rambo. Bullcrap. Both teams should require lots and lots of teamwork to beat the other team.

ducking, the fade loses half its hitbox... hard as hell to hit. And everything else, the speed of the skulk/lerk/fade cause the hitbox to lag behind the model. Its not a fact that I may have poor aim, its a fact that skulks fades lerks take shots and get no damage, there are videos of this around...
ever wonder y u will see a fade blink while holding duck...
