here is my first 3d gun

im really interested in meshing, skinning and animating the second gun
im not 100% satisfied with the gun though, for some reason it doesnt look perfect

if you have any ideas on how i can improve it, that would be great

poly count is like 650 btw <!--emo&:p--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html//emoticons/tounge.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='tounge.gif' /><!--endemo-->

    you definently have some underlying talent, i believe with some more practice you could be really well. What you might want to do is check out an already made pistol model in flatshade mode to check out how other people make theres, you know, get a feel for how to position certain parts of the gun. You have the profile view down pact, but now you need to work on the depth of the gun, because really all this looks like is a chunk of wood in the sillioette of a gun. A damned fine one yes, but needs depth and more demensions. I suggest finding some tutorials and definently keeping it up.

    i only showed one angle, the front looks okay too

    it has a rounded front towards the bottom

    i wish i would have grouped it better, i really just made one group instead of like 4

    will be more annoying when animating

    i try and take my time in all of my work, i have no real art talent in real life so this isnt that easy for me <!--emo&:p--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html//emoticons/tounge.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='tounge.gif' /><!--endemo-->

    ill keep working on it

    it doesnt take much art talent to model. i have none, but i think im tolerably well at modelling. it mainly relies on how quick you catch on, and i think your doin better then most. my first model was when i took another model and stretched the crap out of it untill it looked like a completely new model. i didnt learn to actually model until about my 3rd model.
