Let's hope I don't get bored so fast now
I just played my first game of NS since they integrated Steam, and I gotta say, it's not as bad as I thought it would be.
Combat mode is a lot of fun, and I thought it would suck! My plucky little skulk with Focus and Celerity is remarkably fun to swashbuckle with, nevermind that I miss half the time and end up dying. As a marine, I like being able to count on a welder when I respawn instead of finding that someone has accidnetally carried it off to the front.
Here's hoping resource mode is as fun when I start playing again a little more in-depth. I plan to stay NSPlayer for a loooooooong time, this iteration.

The real game is nicely balanced from what I can see but early fades are perhaps a tad bit too strong and skulks a bit too weak in the early game.
