rumor has it that all the relevent issues have been solved for AvA, an AvA map remains to be seen however. Certianly some interesting prospects will be onos devouring onos, lerk dogfights, and even skulk teams vs onos, should be alot of fun.
how would special affect weapons like stomp, spores, umbra, devour etc work? also skulk vs skulk would be kinda random.. except maybe if you got focus or silence. however things like sof should work as they coded it as team 2 v team 1 not aliens vs marines go flayra + dev team!

MvM is fun, and as intelligent as CS beta 1.0 . If one of the team would wear a fade costume or have different hivesight blibs at least. Without you can just do straight paths to know whos on what team.
Ive been knifing both enemy armourys with 30 enemies spawning and passing by, they thought im a humper.
Because Flayra has mentioned in the past that he was considering supporting MvM and AvA sometime in the future, Redford. But yeah, it's pretty obvious that the BUS isn't going to be either of them.

Redford, from the FAQ:

QUOTE

Can you play marines vs. marines or aliens vs. aliens? The current release doesn't have these scenarios, but the game is designed to support it. This will be supported in the future. Note: these alternate gameplay modes won't "take over" the original modes, so if you don't like the idea of these modes, you won't have to play them.

I had always assumed that "the game is designed to support [MvM and AvA]" was why these third-party game modes worked. I could be wrong, but it makes sense to me.
I do think it's pretty obvious that the BUS isn't either mode, though, as MvM first appeared with 3.0b3 - before the "first stage" of the BUS.

No, Narf. It's not intended that there be any MvM or AvA just yet. It's a glitch. An error. And no, MvM/AvA is not on the docket for 3.0. 4.0, perhaps... when Flayra gets time off from the new company.
When I first heard about MvM and the like... well I was like "WTH IS MvM" then I stopped being a nub and realized Marine vs. Marine.
On a serious note, I was talking to one of my friends about it, and quickyl said "oh great, the NS version of CS" and I agree and disagree on some points. Yeah, now it's just kinda like kill anything not on your team in your path rambo style, but it definitely has a different feel than NS. Most likely for me because I was playing it on a server where a) all the players there are GOOD players and aren't the racial/vulgar people so commonly encountered and b) it obviously was combat, but everyone there was just having fun and messing around.
I think the concept of MvM and AvA is interesting, but it really takes away from what NS is about... survival of the human race or the kharaa.
For the E^10*nth time:

No, MvM and BUS are not the same thing.

MvM as seen in the mapping forum is, while a remarkable feat by the metamodders, not even near what Flayra considers worthy for inclusion.

MvM is still possible for future versions of NS, but would be a seperate gamemode equal in proportion to classic or combat.

In this spirit, ***locked.***

1. MvM is not a feature, or a mod. it is a BUG in the NS code. Nothing more.
2. Why would a bug be the BUS?
Sit on that for a while.
