<div class="IPBDescription">Ehi Kharaa!</div> The alien's flashlight let the player to see much more bettere others team mates and structures. I think that it should have some negative effect, or it should not endless.

What do you think?

Maybe there is already some negative effect but i havent understand them, please explain :-)

Well, as it stands... I hardly ever use this feature.

It makes it harder to concentrate on a marine target I'd say, because you have bright objects moving all over the place... It's distracting, and I guess that'd be a drawback.

I don't really use it hardly ever, unless I am trying to find structures in dark areas, etc. But even then... If it's a gorge you can find em' anyways. I don't see the Alien light being very useful as it is, that's all :o

I'd love to see the flashlight effect for aliens work on parasited marines. Great for those 'dark' areas. The parasite is, after all, telling you where the marine is through walls. Shouldn't there be some kind of visual indicator when you can see them?

I dunno, I just want to see the old enhanced sight doing some good in the new versions <!--emo&:p--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html//emoticons/tounge.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='tounge.gif' /><!--endemo-->

As for the negative effect, as ollj suggested, it's blinding D:

i think that there should be some sort of a "negative picture effect". you know after you get your film developed, you have negatives? maybe marines should look like that, and they glow a little bit ^_^ i dunno thats just me

Imagine structures and kharaa rendered additive and that's about it.

The only time I ever use flashlight right now is as a gorge webbing a dark area. <!--emo&::nerdy::--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html//emoticons/nerd.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='nerd.gif' /><!--endemo-->
The last thing the alien flashlight needs right now is a nerf, if anything it needs a boost. It's kinda pathetic that these advanced xenoforms have the same low-light visual acuity as a human, and marines even get the boost of a (real) flashlight. Adv. hivesight would be great, but the bare minimum they should put in Bahamut's idea about the parasited rines.

It doesn't provide too many advantages for the Kharaa, but looks <i>very</i> impressive especially to people new to Natural-Selection, so I say leave it in <!--emo&:p--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html//emoticons/tounge.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='tounge.gif' /><!--endemo-->

The negative effect to the flashlight, for both teams, is that it sucks.

I can't think of a good reason to nerf it. What it needs to do is light up marines, preferably but not necessarily in a different fashion than it lights up aliens. There was a bug entry to that effect that Flayra marked as Acknowledged back in November I believe, but it still hasn't been done. I hope it makes release. Maybe if the marine flashlight was made functional as well(or replaced with night vision or something?), we could actually make the maps atmospheric again.

its advantage is seeing through alien structures. theres a whole backstory to this also (if i remember correctly). personally i use it all the time, nothing like a good old behind-rt camp.

hardly a signifcant advantage.. you can see around the model without being shot still - now that WoL's have practically dissappeared, it is rare that chambers block your view
