i have tried modeling in milkshape and softimage but i didnt like them at all
milkshape is too hard to model in because you can only model in 2d :|
i love gmax, it is kind of like maya and i am used to modeling in maya
i made a really nice pistol and i got the md3 plugin for gmax and exporeted it
will i run into any problems using gmax and the md3 plugin?
<a href='http://mojo.gmaxsupport.com/Sections/Plugins.html' target='_blank'>this is the plugin im using</a>
what would be better to animate in? milkshape or gmax, i hear md3s arnt the greatest with animation but i am not 100% sure
i dont want to run into any major problems after spending a lot of time making a nice model
thanks

what do u mean theres only a 2d veiw? there should be a 3d view in the righthand corner. If not, click the drop-down menu above a window and select the 3d one.
you wont need anything else unless ur an expert or sumpin...
i like modeling in the 3d view alot more
In my eyes, MS3D is crap. Ok for starters, but beyond that, it's got no "substance".
Gmax and 3D Studio max are the way to go.
Who knows, if you like 3D modeling, you'll want to do bigger and better things that aren't game oriented and MS3D won't be powerful enough to help you.
