but the 5 ( i think it was) was bit to coulerfull fore me
Grizzly - well tanks...it looks a lot different in game..so I guess its hard to say...it was a lot more mellow for me... but then again, I need a new monitor cause this one is a tad dark..
ShenTrax - PM Reply - (everyone else: he said that it looked wierd with blue and then grey trim with lights) The irony is - it's all grey, basically every texture in that corridor is grey - only reason it has colour at all is cause of the lights.. I guess I could make the overlays blue too..but that might be a bit much..
the blue+yellow=green
otherwise it does look good.
whaddya expect in 20 minutes? perfection? more like a cup of coffee....
All - If anyone wants the map files for these corridors...just let me know
try and use some alien textures also, the space ship has been abandoned for a while, so aliens must have taken over the whole thing ^_^... so just see what u can make and then pm me the rmf ^_^
lillbrorsan - Ok...1) I'm not changing anything cause it's not part of a map 2) there is no lightning or lightnings (plural) 3) You aren't very friendly, I don't want to play with you anymore
I'd say Swedish.
the initial statement may have been a bit abrupt, the response wasn't necessarily insulting and it's not somehitng to worry about. /me chalks up another point for internet clarity. (ps, i just want to be a hippy and see everyone happy ~: )
mapwise:
i like the firest hallway, but i'm a sucker for dark areas and funky lit pipes behind grates. i like that unfamiliar texture on the wall. looks like a perfect place for a broken one/vent opening. the light emitted seems too diffuse; i'd expect brighter spots on the pipe texture right under them.
the second one's pretty neat as well, but i don't think that currently the blue compliments the red sky
Wurmspawn : There's always one hippy... ...about the unfamiliar texture, it's actually one of mine, it's a 8 frame animated fan (which is hard to see in a screenshot - as you can imagine).. a long time ago (prior to ns being released) when I was a regular round here (and I was furious when I couldn't remember my original password and didn't have the original email account - 1800 posts ) I gave out an early copy of my texture wad which has since grown and shrunk to 93 textures.
In the hallway there is actually one of them open which is big enough for a marine to get in so I can imagine it would be perfect for a skulk too..
People forget that we can do animated textures and use them for more than just flashing lights etc.. There's some really groovy things you can do with animation rather than actual entities to lag the server.. I've attached a scaled down GIF animation version of the fan so you can see it properly...
edit: how's this?, plenty of places for skulks to hide.
p.s. I like my sandwhich with particle spam.

uh... "Total Recall"?
although i would suggest adding a bit of variation to the architecture in that corridor , say a couple of pipes or something .. looking real good.. gj
That's outside the scope of a 20 minute corridor. And the ceiling has 2 pipes and room for skulks to climb above the "beam" that holds the pipe. The really labour intensive part isn't the corridors themselves, it's those damned intersections between corridors, the joint between corridors and rooms... and the rooms... Basically everything but the corridors is the hard part...
