Quick Question

For school we have to write a science fiction story on a subject we dont really have to research. Science fiction + topic i know =NS. There is a boy in my class who has played NS and would probley say that I playgerized and stole my story. I was just wondering if we are allowed to use Kharaa and TSA and the whole shi-bang in a story. I would assume that we can since this is the Fan-Fiction forum but i just want to make sure.

I say go for it, even if its illegal the dev crew would like the publicity. Oh yea, and if that kid talks, he'll answer to my Onos.

As far as I am aware, you're fine writing fiction and using trademarked names, as fiction without them wouldn't make all that much sense.

Especially since you're a student doing a project. What you create based on the NS universe IS yours, you just can't sell it.

I suppose as long as you don't sell it, it's good publicity for the devs.
Go ahead and if that other kid says that you copied then say "Maybe you copied me?" <!--emo&:p--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html//emoticons/tounge.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='tounge.gif' /><!--endemo-->
