I Think I Just Found The System Specs

for my family's next computer
Looks like I'll only need $300 to build a budget system for the family when I go off to college at the end of this summer.

TechTV apparently has a <$500 system parts list up here. Their inclusion of the 9600Pro and claims that it's around as good as a 9800SE makes me wonder: when I finally build a replacement for my own machine at the end of the school year, should I purposely skimp on the video card, wait until ATI's X800's and NVidia's GeForce6's are out, then go for a newly-pushed-down-price on a 2nd-from-best card?

That processor- what speed is it? 2.6? Higher? Lower? AMD always confused me with those(3400+ being a 2.8ghz? WTH?)

I have pretty much an identical PC, and it runs Far Cry at high settings just fine.

It's a snap Marik, go for it!

Good things come to those who wait. Especially in the world of computers. When the next line of video cards comes out, the now-obsolete cards (top of the line now) should go through some drastic price cuts. Always a good thing(more money for games).

9800SE's are just glorified 9600's, as they operate on 4 pixel pipelines, and have reduced memory and core clocks.
