Lots of fades
One time i was playing as aliens... rines were about to take via, they locked silo, and we lost cargo... 3 of us res **** went fade, and rather than attacking rines that had siege, the three fades we went to marine start, ran in, owned their obs, then arms lab, then phase. before phase died rines killed hive, but someone put up a hive in silo, even though it wasnt clear yet.... and saved us. Then we just mopped up and won

Yes there are also thosae funny things when marine base get owned like that but ha train is on move. Commander drops em armory and wiht good teamplay they kill the hive(s). I`ve also seen few like those they make you feel so good.

Yeah, killing the base when they have a heavy train just doesn't solve anything. However if you can organize a rush on the comm chair, well, thats another story. All of the sudden, the commander is like WTH? Heavies start panicking running out of ammunition, can't get healthpacks, and it's just madness. They have plenty of res, but NO WAY TO SPEND IT! I love it, only problem is it's very difficult to pull off especially if you only have 1 hive. Plus, you need enough aliens to QUICKLY kill the command chair, or else he'll just drop another one near his heavies and it won't matter anyway. You need enough aliens so that he'll see his CC under attack, but won't think much of it because he's watching his heavies. All of the sudden he's out of the chair and chopped to bits.

I definately would have liked to see the marines faces when they lost that game to you guys, lol.

Its definitely not always GG if you attack marine base. Even devoid of ammo, meds, or reinforcements, some HA trains (the welding and well stocked with ammo before you nuked the base ones) can just plough on through to your hive, and at the least most comms will drop an IP/CC near the hive as a last gasp relocate.

If you're raping MS and noone's coming to stop you... consider that the marines might be about to finish building those sieges near your hive.

back in 2.01 without the superdeluxe obs of savious, i lost my base on quite a few occasions. two of them though, my HA team just proceeded on while i dropped them an armory before finally getting gored out of my comm chair. they actually won as well....quite impressive, this happened on mineshaft and origin.

I remember a game in 2.0 when I was the only fade (everyone else were skulks), the marine's base was undefended, and a heavy train had just plastered one of our hives (don't remember if we had 2 or 3). They were enroute to the other hive when I started taking down their base. Phase gate, armory, and protolab were all gone by the time they'd walked home. We ended up winning that game. I didn't get any praise... but it still felt good.

It's amazing how many times a single fade can save a hive AND waste 15 res by getting marines to beacon back to base to save it. (3.0 now)
