hmmm
Ever since I formated my hard drive and installed my ATI RADEON 9800PRO, NS has not been very bright. It's all dark, even if I turn the brightness up ingame it does no good.

Things to do:
1) Make sure your drivers are upto date
2) Make sure you are in OGL Video Mode
3) Download/install an older version of NS (2.0) And run the gama tune tool that will be in your NS dir (you can infact promptly del all of the NS folder exept for that tweak tool)

I've had this EXACT SAME problem after I installed the Catalyst 4.4 drivers, except if I try to turn the brightness up in game it crashes. I'ts really annoying.

Having same or similar problem. My new 128mb ATI Radeon 9700pro works fine with all other games and other Steam games. Gamma switches as supposed to when playing DoD and SSh, but if I go to play NS it becomes really dark. Then when I try to play DoD or SSh again the gamma switch doesn't happen and I have to restart my computer to fix it.
Not major problem...I can still play all other HL games and mods..just not NS

Also, my OS is Win 98.....may be fine for 2k users

change the gamma in your video card settings. that should do the trick. then again im an nvidia man so i got no idea if it will work on ATI.

ATI drivers have always been, and always will be dodgy.

I know thats how I worked it with my previous card a Geforce 2. I'd adjust the gamma using the nvidia control panel (same thing except i'm using the ATI control panel)
With the Radeon you can adjust it so that it automatically switches between desktop gamma and gaming gamma. It works with all other games just fine but not with NS....it screws up.

I've tried everything I can think of and still nothing. This is the only game it doesn't work on...period.

Maybe y'all haven't seen this thread so here's a bump and please help if you can. I really want to be able to enjoy a game of NS.

I have the same sort of problem with my ATI 9000 since i upgraded to cat 4.4

Sometime when i start NS it loads and it is very dark. I then windows key to the desktop and then click the natural selection game to open it back up, hit esc and then resume game. That normally fixes the darkness.

Launch game
windows key
NS tab on the start bar
esc
resume game

give it a try
