Thanks. That's my first guess as well, except I have no idea when I'm suppossed to use "wait" and when I shouldn't.

There's another set of commands to do the same thing.

*addcat <number> - Gives an upgrade corresponding to upgrade number
*removecat <number> - Removes upgrade corresponding to upgrade number

And here are the upgrade numbers

    1 - Defense upgrades
    2 - Offense upgrades (DOESN'T WORK)
    3 - Movement upgrades
    4 - Sensory upgrades

    Have fun practising, because you'll need it <!--emo&:)--><img src='http://www.natural-selection.org/forums/html//emoticons/smile.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='smile.gif' /><!--endemo-->

I don't think that would be terribly efficient in practice, as you'd eat up all your energy in a single blink.

I'm part of the fastswitch crowd, myself. I can get a bit twitchy in tight situations, and I need to know that when I press a button, I'm going to be blinking the hell out of there instead of swiping the air. Plus with the new meta I constantly find myself throwing in a quick meta with most every blink.

I'm surprised more people (read: the ones without fancy mouses, I have a feeling most people use a 2-button+wheel like me) don't have jump bound to mouse2. It makes perfect blinkhopping a piece of cake. Btw, you can still get the "swipeless kill" even if you use fastswitch.

I like that "esdf" config, civ... going to have to try that. It'll give my pinky something else to do besides spamming the voicecomm (shift) <!--emo&:)--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html//emoticons/smile.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='smile.gif' /><!--endemo-->

Not if you used quick taps as you would normally.

    hud_fastswitch 1 and slot1 slot2 slot3 slot4 binds are the way to go.

Say you just finished slashing a marine, now you decide to use metabolize a little. Uh oh! 3 marines with hmgs just came around the corner, so you hit lastinv and blink away. But wait! Your last attack was slash, so now you are dead.

This is obviously an oversimplified scenario and the fade made several errors, but why mess with the extra complication?

    hud_fastswitch 1 to enable, 0 to disable.

When you are getting ready for your attack run, hit 1 to select Slash, then 2 to select Blink. And if it's bound, it your last used weapon key, q is what mine is bound to.

When you blink, look up a bit at your target, blink in, hit q right before you reach him, slash him to death, or once, depending on the situation, then hit q again to re-select blink and get out before you get worked.

Adrenaline is useful for newer players who don't know how to conserve their stamina between blinking and attacking, but Celerity is by far the better upgrade for hit and run Fades.

If you can get to your Hive to heal, go for Carapace, it keeps you alive way longer then regen will, but if you have trouble Blinking away from danger or the map is to spread out, get regen to lick your wounds. Definatly get Carapace if you have a second hive, because you can use Metabolize instead to heal yourself. Adrenaline might be a better choice if you're going to use Metabolize and Blink a lot.
