[inquiry] Ammo Counters?

Couldnt you technically do this?
Now I know everyone slags the little ammo LED read outs on weapons that have an ammo count because it cant actually count your ammo and will always display the same number. But now with the transparency DLLs couldnt someone implement something like that? Like maybe it wouldnt count your ammo per se, but when you run out, couldnt it flash RELOAD and then when its done reloading flash FULL or something? I personally think that would be cool for an HMG, a real big one with an electronic feel (needs a computer to keep up with the number of bullets it firing )

Meh. Just speculating.

It's been done. Look for BlackPanther's M41A1 Pulse Rifle

Will do! I got the idea from the 31 poly LMG, the one where it says RELOAD and has a countdown to finish. Now while it was made as a sort of joke, I think its the flashing text is really cool and would like to see it more often

Most you could do is reload, ready, and empty. No skin/animation for each ammount of bullets left so you couldent pull a firearms g36 on this

the only prob with BP's Pulse Rifle is it stays on 50 cept when u shoot it displays -- and when u reload it has RE which is kool but yeh it always stays on 50 even if u have 1 bullet

I thinks this happened because the g36 in FA is the only model that has different frames for each bullet, but you don't notice it. They just made it that way for some reason or another.

there's a gun done for another hl mod with the ammo led that shows the number of bullets you have left and updates when you get more ammo and all that. If someone wants to know the mod is Overground, unfortunately has no reloading but it would be interesting to get a conversion.

because that mod has either a animation for every single bullet or the ammo counter is coded in
In NS tho there arent that many fire animations to get a everysingle bullet counter in NS it needs to be coded in

    Would be possible

    if it was coded in.

Unfortunately, NS doesn't have the code required to put in the sprites to do that. And I don't think modellers can do that either because they would have to collect the data concerning the ammo in the gun from the server, and display the correct number with the sprite for the client.

    In other words, nigh-on impossible.
