Make sure you have enough HD space, because it'll take a lot. While watching the demo in Half-Life, but I think the command is... "movie "X" "framerate"" 30's a good fram rate for movies. Well, what it does, it'll make a .bmp of each frame in your HL Folder, hence taking the space. You can used that to compile into a .avi with Video Match. The sound won't come through though, so use Fraps for an easier was of getting it to .avi with sound.

    while demo runs, use command

startmovie moviename 30 (fps)is the best im my opinion. u can halt the bmp making process by taking down the console, and take it up again to resume capturing.
    endmovie to stop.
and use fps_max 30 when running the demo to get best result.

viewdemo demoname for watching demos is exellent, there u can fast forward and slow motion and more.

ps: best prog for putting all those thousands of bmp's together to an avi would be videomach.
