Yeah I'm in the same boat, my plans are to buy a new computer, then buy farcry, possibly UT2k4, BF:V, and call of duty, and wait for HL2 and doom3 to come out and buy those too, and I should be more than occupied.

omg no one ever by CS:CZ that game makes me so mad its like buying a second conterstike with more noob weapons. CS is already fine as is, just apply your skill and thats all.

I would go HL:2 when i comes out, I already have a copy of Halo 2 on hold for me too.

Depends on if you're willing to put in the hours for far cry sp or not. If you have a lot of spare time, Far Cry on realistic difficulty is the best single player I've ever played. If you just want a run and blast game, I'd go UT2004. Painkiller comes painfully close (pun not intended) to being my recomendation over ut2004, but I don't know what it's multiplayer is like.

I say buy UT2004. It's a great game with lots of
little extra's to keep you occupied while you wait
    on Half-Life 2.

EDIT: What are your system specs Moquiao ?

Painkiller, Far Cry and the new Unreal Tournament will all keep you occupied until HL2 comes around. Question is where your taste in games lies, they're all very different.

Ut2004. Best game from that list by far. So many different game types for on and offline play. And best of all, great fun.

UT2k4 is ok.. my friend just swashbuckled a copy of far cry and he loves it, it is a great game for all types of gamers, the ones who like the arcade style "I'm gunna kill 50 thousand men and not die" with easy or normal mode, or the "I'm gunna sneak around and be all ninja like" with hard/realistic mode and dynamic AI (it learns from you and gets harder as you do better) I'd go with far cry over unreal any day.... mostly because I cant stand unreal. so I have a bias.

UT2K4 has best value/price ratio on that list. However, since you seem to like Astrowars a lot, might I suggest X2? It's a space "simulation" along the lines of Elite and Freelancer, but it has a heavy focus on trading and building up big fleets of ships, which are used to spread death, injury and other unpleasant things. Much like a certain browser based game that I mentioned earlier in my post.

I like the look of the new Splinter Cell.

Or even the new Hitman game, mmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm.

I'm biased towards sneakers with lots of gunguns and rewards for not being all out assault (althought you have the CAPACITY to do so).

I'd go for either of those.

    Edit- mmmmmmmmmm X2, rubrubrub

Or raid the oldies bin for some choice cuts.

UT2004 is a good game, but tbh for me it wasn't the game to end all games like ive read in some places. It's UT2003 with cars, new models/mutators, and more bugs. Granted it's still fun as hell, but it's still not above the other new fps's ive played.

Here are my questions about full game:

Is the AI less prone to "OMG MUST KILL!" then in the demo?(aka, calling in a helicopter after you kill 1 person on easy mode).

Is the AI sight better?(aka, the plants that SHOULD hide you hide you and the ones that don't, don't?)

Does it perform better than demos?

Did they get rid of the actor for your character? He sounds like a Duke Nukem wannabe.(Duke=cool. This guy = wannabe.)

I haven't played on easy mode, but on realistic they do call in reinforcements with the smoke signal grenades, which is understandable cuz.. well.. it's sposed to be 'realistic'. The AI sight is better, generally if they're really close to you no matter what they'll see you and shoot you in the face, and their hearing is pretty good too unless you use the mp5 which is seemingly completely silent to the mercenaries. It does perform a little better then the demo, or at least it did in my experience. The auto-detect is very useful when setting up your display options. Nowhere near as scaleable or as optimised as UT, but that's to be expected.

Unfortunately the voice acting is still there, but tbh you get used to it, and he really doesnt talk TOO often.

I think cs: cz is the biggest waste of money ever... the $15 I spend on HL went SOOOO FAR. All I've played for the last couple of years (with a little bit of war3 and runescape in the mid) are halflife mods. So HL2 would probably be the same.

Never got sucked in to the whole cs scene personally, never liked the game. Now I'm just glad I wasn't planning on getting Condition Zero <!--emo&:p--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html//emoticons/tounge.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='tounge.gif' /><!--endemo-->
