Demo Style
Well, there was a thread about a ns guide for whatever. So, I just summed it up in a demo. I lerk in my clan so thats what its on. Whatever I do right is summed up in this combat demo of me lerking. Its short and sweet only about 1.3meg dl, 4megs uncompressed. Just note, in real ns_ lerks should never rush in like I do in combat and just spore the shotguns/lmg's for the fades/skulks. With that said enjoy the show.

Download

ps: Since I know most of us are lazy just post a demo as a guide for anyone wanting this stuff.

    Hehe. To save someone asking:

    Having problems opening demo files?

I haven't watched it myself yet, but sounds good so far. I cant stand lerk prsnally. Too little heatlh. Fades make for an equally good fly-in fly-out attack, and they have stupid amounts of health.

Id rather see guides for lower level players, level 9 lerks are very easy to play as.

UKChaos, for low level lerks, just get celerity off the bat, you go 750 speed with it (way faster than a skulk bhop) and just spore and swoop by, and take a bite, turn around and go back, just play it safe at first, if you don't feel like dying, or just spore, dorp down, take a bite, go back up, spore, and repeat (best if you have regen ) Or if you want and it's 1 on 1, go spore then go down, take 2 quick bites.

Also a mistake ALOT of lerkers do are that they keep hitting their jump button to fly when attacking DONT do that, you waste WAY too much energy, just glide (hold your space bar (or whatever you have +jump set too). And you'll have plenty of energy left to fly away... (unless if you tried to bite him 20 times, then of course you'd run out of energy )

Try converting this into a movie and adding some simple edits to it to explain what you're doing, and why you're doing it. It'd be a pretty fun and simple project... and i'm sure people will make good use of it. give it a shot .

I'll make an actual natural selection demo if that helps more. The combat style one was just easier and quicker to do. I'll try to get napalm to make a fade one and matchbox to make a skulk one.

I know the best chamber orders, its my biting technique that needs improving. Im good at gliding around to conserve energy, whist keeping a decent speed, however i get into difficulty when trying to attack.

Since lerks arent able to strafe, i find it difficult to avoid collliding with my prey unless the first bite is fatal. Most of my kills happen by crawing round on the floor biting at the marine's ankles... basically applying skulk bite techniques.

That would be great. I think alot of people will want to watch how to improve their fading and skulking.

If possible, maybe comment on voicecomm what he is doing and why? Like, "See how i stay back and parasite him instead of charging him head on....." etc....

some tips on skulking: get a crosshair for your bite, it helps a lot
when you bite a marine they will always slide to your left, so if you aim to the left of them (like at their right kneecap or so) you're basically pushing them into your next bite

... how would that be an exploit rofl

I wouldn't use a xhair for bite though

He uses an x hair for bite because it helps him, it gives him an advantage. Maybe this is why your not given one by default. I didnt say it was an exploit, i simply asked the question, theres no need for ridicule

it's not an exploit at all, and it helps a lot of people bunnyhop since they have something to focus on while their view is swaying around

Well, look at it this way. It's an old engine "loophole" that has been known to the developers for forever now. Like a stopcommandermode exploit is known or an egg bug is known, these game changing things are fixed.

Since bunnyhopping was never fixed or touched, it's not deemed an exploit.
  • LastLast Join Date: 2003-10-06 Member: 21463Members
even if it was an exploit, you're not gonna do anything about it, because no one cares what you say. arguing on the internet is retarded, anyway.
