<div class="IPBDescription">Is gmax a good modeling tool?</div> Hello there folks. I have recently taken an interest in modeling, and I am staring at the download for gmax. Now my concern is that if I use gmax, my models will not be as professional and as easy to make as with a purchased modeling system.
Should I even bother using/learning gmax? Or am I better off spending money on milkshape or some other model maker?

    ok, so here's what i used/learned on:

    milkshape - at first, it was a little chunky and unrefined, but you learn to get around that

    Blender/Wings3D/3dbruce - from what i tried... it's just not worth the time if you want to model for games.

    Gmax - absolutly hated it, to get my models out i had to have milkshape anyway...

    Maya PLE - sure, it's free, it's powerful, but those dng watermark/viewport overlays ate soo much of a hassle, milkshape is a better choice.

    3dsmax - i got my hands on r6, and the smd export doesn't work, so i'm still running through milkshape... but it's still awsome.



    Overall: start with milkshape... it's ~$30 USD... compaired to 3ds max or maya, it's a steal.
