With bump mapping, it is VERY intense on your CPU, and dependent. With me on a Downgraded(i.e. not optimized) P4 2.0ghz, bump mapping makes PC go "WAAAAH!".
Pixel shading hasn't gotten to the level it has until recently. Notice the pixel shading in morrowind...well, its like Quake with higher resolution, and shadows that have NOTHING to do with what they hit(ever wear a robe? Looks damned funny for the shadow!)
Shaders, Gwahir, should be CPU intensive. Thats why I have a problem with them. I've got a kickass VC, but as said, my processor needs some work(which it'll be getting as soon as I have my job!)
1. Guns didnt fire. 2. I couldnt get into 1st person 3. Was still laggy for me on lowest settings.. (bf1942, and most games work perfectly on high details) 4. Longer loading time than battle field.. FOR THE MAIN MENUS 5. Slowest.. Refreshing.. On... Servers.. EVER. 6. Is it me, or is the only way to run is to jump and then keep walking?

Find a good ping server(I reccommend the official "Soldner Beta W(or E) #" servers. Their good, 16 player servers, not too much lag.
First person default: C. Its just a first person perspective, same model, not much change. Much easier to play 3rd person.
Guns fire, you just have to either take them out, or get on a non-laggy server.
Laggy on lowest settings is probably server...if not, something is SERIOUSLY wrong with your PC
The main menu takes a long time to load because its loading the WHOLE GAME at the same time. If you notice(and find a good server), connecting to servers is uber fast being the engine is still running.
Jumping isn't worth it much in this for anything other than getting over fences or through windows.
I've played maybe 5 games of it, and I'm pretty interested in it. But I remember it's a demo so I overlook the bugs and problems for now. When tehy release a eral demo, I hope they fix most if not all the bug issues, the laggyness, the crashes, and for gods sake, have it recognize my fing joystick so I can try and fly a helicopter or something. Till, then, I'll frequent it for just a bit of relaxation. It's actually calming watching your guy (Gas mask with Nazi helmet, trenchcoat and black boots witha G36) just walk around the wilderness (I feel like I'm actually walking throught he woods a bit.) There have been times a tank passed me and everything started to slow down. I turned down the settings quite a bit and it seemed to fix it. Or it may have been the server lag, but still, it was kind ahard playing it with high settings. Even at the lower settings, it looks good. I sure hope they keep up the good work.
If you're having troubles connecting to the portal or finding games and really want to play it, restart the beta. That works for me. The physics engine is rather good, but I noticed a few mess ups. Was in a tank (hard to drive witha keyboard...) and someone blew it and me up with a anti-tank misle. The main body actually flew up a bit and landed nose down and jsut stayed there. An engine glitch, but hey, I've played video games since I was 5 years old, I know that you can't make a video game real life so easily. Also took a tractor, ramped a hill at over 50 MPH and it did a barrel roll and a flip and what not. Not to mention that a several ton tractor jumped as high as two stories. But I still over looked that, I mean, if we only played games based on realism, I wouldn't be playing one as a future marine on a ship, shooting alien dogs and space cows that can swallow me whole...
If you try to run over a bridge and stop for whatever reason, you'll fall through and end up in the water. On foot or in a vehicle. I don't think their bridge structures are solid entities... Really though, give games a **** break. The reason they released this game to the public was to find out about bugs with vary systems and graphics cards and OSes and what not so they can FIX them. Hell, if you were to email them and ask them if you could help them with bug testing on your system or something, they might be happy you offered at least, if you are declined. That means to them that people are interested enough in a game to help them make it better. I mean, that's why you're playing NS 3.0 isn't it? It's still a beta but it's public. You want NS to evolve till it's as perfect as it can be, don't you?
