    you misunderstand. the problem I see with the explanation is that her legs look to be completely fixed down and the knees don't match up. I have absolutely no doubts about amplifying/reading electric impulses meant to trigger movement.

    only things like a mech we will see in the military will be used for things like lifing heavy loads/carrying stuff or something "small" for body protection, which has been developed and the military is looking at now. But, the idea of a mech like in gundam wing would be rather stupid as a tank would be much cheaper and just as useable for the size

    I dont think Gundam Wing mechs or any Knight Armor like human mechs are at all logical

    Mech Warrior is more logical than that and even thats stretching it

    Im fairly sure once we get far enough developed in R&D the Exosuits will evolve with warfare...

    Something like Final Fantasy probally (even though they're not exactly exosuits)
    <img src='http://www.altomovies.com/f/final-fantasy/m-000103-im-001109.jpg' border='0' alt='user posted image' />

    minaturizing the technology and what not

    however landmate like tanks I dont think would be too far off either...and I REALLY think Shirows heading in the right direction with Spider like tank models (fuchikomas and the such)

    Yeah, only to accidently hit the ARM button, have an electrical voice shout "Weapon system Engaged" and blow your school to smidderines..

    then be in detention for the rest of the year (in another school of course (or a parking lot when you think about it! lol ))

    Sheena picked landmates because she's been working with Shirow for a long time. Patlabor and those just aren't as close to home in this case.

    But you go ahead and build one. I'm sure it'd be well-received.

    nope.. her legs can move freely behindthat, her legs are not sticking in a tube.
    its just round on the front, on the backside its open. this "round" thing where her leg apears to stick in is a guiding mechanism.. ahm.. hard to explain...

    you put on the landmate in kneeing position. you have to imagine that there are "boots" in the tights, to keep them in the parking position, and guide the leg into them you need this guiding mechanism.. the part that is visible is static,but thats the only part,there is no more behind or under it, it just helps you to "knee" on it when standing up..

    omg.. ppls thinkin way to complicated these days.. <!--emo&:p--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html//emoticons/tounge.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='tounge.gif' /><!--endemo-->

    To be slightly more on topic, but not by much...

    "Sure, I'll come weld you..." *wink*
