Mapping Part 2

<div class="IPBDescription">Made maps</div> Is ther a way i can add on to maps that are already made?
Example: lets take Ns_metel and i want to add more lights or make it darker or even add some chairs or cpu's. how would i do this?

    You would have to decompile the map, which is *not* something a newbie mapper would like to do. Basically, you'd have to rebuild the whole map anyway - and you probably won't get much respect for decompiling someone's map and then adding your changes to it.

    Take a look at the 50-odd page long threads concerning the rebuilding of certain other (original-lost) maps by a large collective of experienced mappers, and you get an idea of the kind of work involved...
    For minor entity tweakage there actually is less work involved, but still it is frowned upon. Quite badly, as a matter of fact.

    You'd email the map designer and beg and plead for them to adjust it to your liking..... but not many would.... just for you anyways. If you had like a petition or something, maybe.
