Guides to fade, onos and lerk in CO mode
I would like to share my strategies for combat mode.

Spawn as skulk. Don't go in alone, EVER, unless you are playing 1 on 1 or 2 on 2, or are against bots. Make sure you are behind 2 or 3 skulks.

Let marines come to you: This is very important. If you have to run to a marine, you will most likely die on the way there.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Fade:

Save your experience until level 4, in which you can go fade and kill many people.

As fade, blink in and kill one or two people, or just swipe once or twice, then blink out. ALWAYS watch your armor, because if your armor goes low, you will surely die...

At level 5, get carapace: this makes for many more kills, and you will now see a faster increase of levels. Make sure you are never fighting more than 3 marines.

At level 6, get regeneration: now you can sit outside of their base and wait for a lone marine to come out, or blink in and kill one or two people without having to return to the hive.

At level 7 get metabolize. This is for faster healing, and to use while blinking about in their base. Remember this will restore your energy, also.

Level 8 you get adrenaline. Now you can blink in to the base and still have energy to swipe, and blink out.

Level 9: Get Celerity. THis is to increase the speed of your blink greatly, and you can catch a marine now without blinking, as fades and marines move at the same speed.

Level 10: Get Focus, SoF, or Acid Rocket. Focus is to kill marines faster. It wont matter now as much, but it is always fun to kill marines. SoF is to tell you where mariens are. If they are going to your base, you will know before they get there, and can alert your team and attack the marines. Acid rocket is if you are winning, just spam their base with AR, and you may get a few kills.

Thats my guide to fade in combat.

Lerk:

At level 1, get leap, and at level 2, get xenocide. These will both help you to get to your lerk goal very quickly, and will take care of getting primal scream, which I firmly belive is the lerks most powerful ability in combat, making all of your, and all aliens around you, attacks 30% more powerful, 30% faster, and 60% more energy regeneration.

Save level 4, and at level 5 gorge, then lerk.

Rush their base constantly with PS and bite, or PS and spores. At level 6, get adrenaline, which will increase your flying ability greatly. At level 7 get carapace, which gives you 30 more armor, which goes a very long way.

At level 8 get celerity. This will also increase all potential for a kill by very much, as you can get to your target faster, and it is harder to hit a celerity lerk.

At level 9 get focus. Combined with PS this makes armor level 1 and maybe 2 one hit kills.

At level 10 get regeneration, which fullfills the purpose it does for fade.

When you rush their base, use Primal Scream, Umbra, and bite. You will live for a longer time, your attacks will be one hit kills, and you will be on top on the alien team (I am usually).

Onos

Save level 2, 3 and 4 for fade. This will help you kill people faster so you can get to your onos goal faster. Save level 5 and go Onos at level 6. At level 7, get stomp. This makes it easy to eat marines, and also makes gore easier to use.
At level 8 get celerity. Now you can run into their base and kill some people, and then run out.

Level 9: Regeneration. You can live much, much, much longer while in combat with a few marines.

Level 10: cloaking or adrenaline: You can hide behind corners with cloaking and eat marines, then hide again and gore some marines. Adrenaline: This lets you stomp easier, and lets you devour much easier also.

When you run in as onos, devour someone, stomp and gore someone, hit the CC 2 or 3 times, then run out, stomping all of the way.

Those are my strategies.

Nice job on the guides, although I think getting celerity right after adrenaline is a better deal than carapace for experienced lerkers. Lerks fly "pretty slow" with celerity and that extra 30 armor does nothing when you get nailed with a shotty. Better to get celerity and fly around like a madm- I mean madlerk .

I've been working on the "focus-first" skulk and tech straight to lerk. Works well against non-armor marines but I think leap-xeno-lerk is strictly better in skilled matchups. Xeno hurts like hell, especially if the midst of a firefight. Nothing scares a marine like a xenoing skulk.

Um, you can't spend one level on getting Acid Rocket. You have to get Metabolize first.

I'd suggest Carapace for onos. The extra dmg reduce helps a ton, since you're the proverbial side of the barn.

Word, cloaking doesn't do much for onos. Just wait around the corner without it and eat him.

For fades, I get celerity before cara or regen. A fast fade is a bugger to hit, and it'll help save energy.

I usually skulk, get leap, get celerity, then save for whatever I'm going for.

Im a fan of getting focus first, then saving the 3 lvls for fade.
After that I get carapace, celerity, regen.

the last 2 can be whatever you want really, I think metabolize is a waste only because you can blink back to hive quickly to heal in these small maps. Adrenaline isnt really needed either as a focus fade because you will be gaining more energy than you lose when you attack.

For onos i get leap and xeno asap, then just xeno everyone until i have enough for fade. If the marines are not getting any armor upg by the time i have 3 pts saved up, i just keep xenoing until i have enough for onos. Then i get adrenaline, and carapace/regen ... always fun to charge into marine spawn, eat a guy, and run out..
