    Just to clarify my intial statement: It's a <i>premise</i>, a basis on which to continue thinking about the merits of different game design concepts. If you believe that high controllability and variied gameplay are key, I might very well agree on the majority of cases, because both are excellent devices for the creation of memorable experiences.
