Steam Connection Prob

this may be a bit off topic since it doens't include ns but heres the prob :
its has now made 4 days , my steam keeps saying when i press the shortcut to launch steam , it says , Launching steam then says this :
Could not connect to Steam network.
This could be due to a problem with your Internet connection, or with the Steam network. Please visit www.steampowered.com for more info.
Is it the firewall? I allready used my firewall with steam before and didn't happen this , and yes i "allowed" steam to run with the firewall
The firewall is Sygate personel firewall , i allready tried disconnecting it but ... nothing
if it isn't the firewall then what is it! i really want to play NS i allready reinstalled Steam and unistaled and installed and unistalled and install it again <!--emo&:(--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html//emoticons/sad.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='sad.gif' /><!--endemo-->
