Recently, Cliffe of CS fame decided to ask the community what they thought of some weapon price changes he was considering. If you don't feel like registering for a new forum to read the proposed changes, scroll down to the news item on it at <a href='http://www.csnation.net' target='_blank'>CSNation</a>
If you want to see how people responded to it, skim through <a href='http://www.forumplanet.com/counterstrike/topic.asp?fid=6695&tid=1333242' target='_blank'>this thread</a> (requires free GameSpy registration, e-mail contact info, first born child, blah blah).
I am going to withhold further comment. *Know* that direct insults against Cliffe or CS as a mod will likely get this locked quickly. Bashing the CS community is also discouraged, though I assume there will be comments about the posting styles of specific members in that thread.

    I haven't read all 3-bajillion pages, nor am I going to, but I'm impressed. Anytime a dev team asks its populace so openly about game changes, it's usually a mess. The CS players seem to be mostly well-mannered.

    I like how they increase the ak, colt, and awp prices. It will probably make people think twice before getting the most popular-killer guns.

    they made the less-powerful guns cheaper, the more powerful guns more expensive, AND made the AK nearly as expensive as it's closest CT weapon. THE CS TEAM ACTUALLY RELEASES AN UPDATE WITH NEEDED BALANCE CHANGES THE WORLD IS ENDING.

    "Actually you're wrong. The general model designation of the Accuracy International rifle, is the L96 / Arctic Warfare rifle. The reason the P is on the end is because of the fact it's a police model. Hence; AWP. This class of L96 fires the .308 winchester round. The AWM is the Super Magnum version which generally fires the more powerful .338 Lapua round, depending on the length of the barrel on that particular model. That's the rifle I believe CS uses." -locdog

    This is gonna change eco rounds DRAMATICALLY for CS. People might not know, but during cs matches, economy is key. Expect to see less awps in matches, unless a team is dominating.     What I'd like to see:

    Minimum prices of 5,000 on the AK and M4. A price of 3,200 on MP5. Deagle costing 1500. That'll diversify the game.

    I'm strongly supporting the deduction of the duelies down to $600.

    I love those guns, and I go on 5 kill streaks with them, even though they're the worst weapons in the game.

    Glad to see some of the unwashed masses have brains capable of learning enough new vocabulary to stop the 12-year-old AIM speak for a bit, but it doesn't change the fact that CS is a terrible game that everyone likes for no real reason. Don't give me that "realism" BS. Natural Selection is about as realistic as that game.

    hey the MP5 went up. boo lol.

    I usaly jsut assume ill suk every round so over the past few years I jsut buy the crappy guns.

    And now I do pretty well with em. And ill never run outa money either!

    Ill go the entire round with just the mp5. or the M3 shotgun.

    Oh well the P90 dropped thats ok.
