Yea, HAMPTONS...what happened to that? As youve said, thats was a popular place for clanners to go PUBBING...and it was ALWAYS filled too (IIRC 20 or 24 players). And yes, there was an abnormally high amount of marine wins. Imagine how much more the marines would 'own' if they decided to scrim with that kind of player count.
Okay, so at this point, pretty much all the balance problems are coming from alien res flow and marine upgrades. Assuming Flayra is willing to adjust these variables, how should they be set? Since it plays out so well for 6v6, wouldnt touching em mess it up for scrims?
I do remember the suggestions to scale the numbers depending on game size, but I dont think Flayra would be too hot on dynamically changing costs or res flow.
Rapier7: that doesnt sound like the HAMPTONS I knew and loved....
Oh trust me, it was. "Players will be kicked for idlers in #(some random irc channel)"
But I really was a noob at the time. Didn't even know how to set down a waypoint. <!--emo&:D--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html//emoticons/biggrin.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='biggrin.gif' /><!--endemo-->
I think that they should use the tournament mode to adjust variables for clan play vs. pub play, since they've already got that server variable for clan matches.
If I had to make an idea (a.k.a. If I wanted to be flamed and raped), I'd go with going back to the older 1.0x Gorge res system, with maybe a boost to Gorge res and a slowdown to other Alien res, but the Gorge-given ability to give out res.

I'm all for the 1.0x gorge, I loved that phatteh. Alien res flow was always good, and it helped cement the team together. Plus, it gave me something useful to do during clan play <!--emo&:p--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html//emoticons/tounge.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='tounge.gif' /><!--endemo-->
I posted a fix for this problem. Its simple. Make the gorg get at least x amount of the resources. Say you have one gorg. Make it so you he gets 15% of all the res at least, so in smaller games there is no bonus but in large games like 9v9 the gorg will get 15% of the res.

....why the gorge did you guys bring that up here anyway?
Well its different from the 1.04 system as in it only starts working above 6v6 and it can be modified that all gorgs get 15% or the more gorgs the lower but still higher than average res %. Instead of 15% for 4 gorgs 13% each. The 1.04 system was like 80% for 1 gorg this is a huge difference.

in the 1.04 system, each gorge had 3 shares, while each skulk had one. everyone gets (total res flow)*(their amount of shares)/(total amount of shares). There wasnt a hardcoded percentage.
and again, this is not the thread for this. This thread is about number of players in a game affecting the balance.
