<div class="IPBDescription">A question I have been meaning to ask.</div> Why has free roaming mode been cut? Being constantly behind someone or being in FPV get annoying. I sure many other people feel this way.

There aren't any logical reasons to leave unlocked chasecam off. It's even more stupid and illogical to disable freeroam and unlocked chasecam in spectator. I don't know what they (devs) think they're accomplishing, but it isn't positive.
Try again. Disable communication between dead and living players and there won't be a problem. CS has been doing it for years. Furthermore, don't allow spectators to join either team for the rest of the round. You have a similar restriction on ejected commanders - where they cannot be a comm for the rest of the round, regardless of <i>retry</i> or whatever.
it's about the thing that you could go into the hive, spying, and the alien's wouldn't recognise, as example.
i think this isn't good for spec mode. should be back in.
clan games are recorded anyway, so you could see it in the record when someone goes spying.
and in pubs... i don't bother. there are other things that are more important - especialy lamers, idiots and noobs which wan't to get learned by other players even when the hive is under siege.

Anyone tries pulling that crap in a scrim/match, they get teh banz0r. If they do it in a pub, it won't accomplish anything and any decent admin would take action.
Why cant you just disable it if you're on aliens/marines at the time, and enable it while your on spec? I have honestly never had a problem on a pub where someone leaves marines/aliens, spectates, and comes back to tell their team. And, if it were to be in a clan match, where things like this are more important, then they'd be banned.
I suggest NOT to remove voice comm and talking while you're dead though...That would be really annoying, NS is an EXTREMELY social game compared to other mods.
The removal of free look is more of a technical issue then a gameplay one.
Basically, Flay is using mouse movements to control the spec menus (same as Commander Mode), and therefore the mouse movements can't be used to control free look mode.
Free look can be re-enabled easily using server plugins, but you have to use the keyboard to navigate..

he means that you could go into all-time spec mode (no team) and hear what the enemy is discussing and/or planing.

I dont know about you guys... but it freaks me out.. cause ill only be paying half attention to the game, and i hear the spawn sound, and i hit the ole WASD and i start moving differently then im inputting... thats bad. makes me confused, but after a few seconds i realize that im an idiot.

I just started my own LAN server to get around this, binded some keys to up/down/left/right and went spec. If there's nobody else in the server you can free roam (hence why I made a LAN server)

Thats an easy fix. Revert it back to the old spectator controls, where ctrl toggles the cusor, that simple.
