Just got it
Fun game, but WAY too short. I got it around noon yesterday and finished it around 6:00 that evening. After finishing singleplayer I went on to multi... eh... the deathmatches arent that great, and SD, whatever it stand for, is so-so. Feels like a WWII counter-strike. I'm gonna have to try Heat of Battle....

How about a duel on mp_pavlov sometime today?
I just got it 3 days ago too

Pretty fun but as you said too short.

The multiplayer coudl have been SOO much better with
just a little bit of effort.

I don't think it was too short, more like perfectly intense. However, I wish they'd replaced the sub-standard missions, such as the dam raid, with ones of equal quality to, say, Pegasus Bridge.
• Nil_IQNil_IQ Join Date: 2003-04-15 Member: 15520Members
Yep, the dam raid and that mission on the ship felt far too medal-of-honourish, i.e, you are one man against a ludicrous amount of enemies. The final missions for both the American and British campaign disapointed me (to end the british campaign you literally just walk through a door), although the Russian one was pretty awesome, if short.

I never realised there were so many car chases in WWII until I played CoD.

I liked the British mission much more than the Russian ones.

The whole SAS idea was really appealing.

The Russian one just got repetative. Oh look a ruined building, oh look an MG-42, *dies*, *respawn*, Oh look another ruined building, Oh look an MG-42, *dies*, repeat ad nauseum

If you want SAS go play MoH.

The russian missions own! The scale of the battles is amazing and atmospheric

Russian campaign was the best - I could have played it on and on for hours. Very intense and fun, could have been longer.

I love TDM online - the Moisin-Nagant ownz all!! Especially on the powcamp map, prone on the roofs heheh.

Only on the first 2 missions.

Then it gets crap.

And the tank missions sucked.

Actually I thought they were pretty cool, but pretty **** that you could destroy so many German tanks so easy.

The British campaign was the crappiest, IMO the American and Russian campaigns was much much better. But the Russian campaign was the best of course, so cool to run up towards the Germans (on the first level) while the MG 42 bullets fly past your head.

But like most of the people mentioned here, the game was pretty short though, but you could always play on the harder difficulty levels.

The multi-player is all about the mods, I got CoD after DoD was butchered, the mod scene is exploding in CoD.

Heat of Battle - HoB is very good and will be better in one week when the new patch comes out. They will fix the hit boxes so the game feels more like the Realism Mod. No more surviving a rifle shot in the center mass.

Yea, all of the British missions with the exception of Pegasus Bridge sucked, but they had the best voice acting (Jason Statham I believe).

The Russian missions were intense and fun as hell, but for some reason I just couldn't get in to them like I did the American missions, I don't know why. That car chase in the Peugeot is friggin' awesome, but my favorite mission in the whole game is Brecourt.

I tried multiplayer and it was just more of the same really, reminded me a lot of regular Medal of Honor MP. I downloaded Heat of Battle, but for some reason it won't install correctly.

I'd have to say the best mission is Pegasus Bridge, but then I'd read the book about the real-life events there so my experience took on a whole new level of understanding and enjoyment. Plus Price has one hell of a 'tache.

Best Mission SP wise was the ending. I mean, how much better can you get from bringing down Berlin?!

And just to let you know- the lackluster MP was one thing they were actually aiming for. They wanted that for the CSers(they actually wanted to COPY HL MP wise), then let the rest of the people that know what REAL gaming is make mods and play mods. Thats why they made it EASILY scriptable.

GG.

I loved the Tank missions...watching German soldiers spasm and trip as my machine gunner shot at them made me giggle like a schoolgirl.

I found it more fun to watch their bodies fly 20 feet in the air when I shelled them.

Otto..

Check out their server, its total realism. Nothing like CS. There are no crosshairs, upped weapon damage (more like one shot kills), different run speeds, and you can bleed to death. They also have a teamspeak server, which makes it great.

And I remember one night when I snuck behind enemy forces and bashed 8 guys (out of the 15) to death with NO ONE noticing. Sneaking up on three other guys was just getting me pumped! And then I was chasing another guy, and whenever he crouched down (completly silent) I crouched, then when he ran, I ran. lol funniest and stealthiest thing ever, finally got to him and beat the crap out of him with my MP40.

Oh, and make sure you have 1.2 patch, and check out the website above. Its the *only* server I play on!

i only played the single player thus far, on the net it runs like crap for mwa
• OttoDestructOttoDestruct Join Date: 2002-11-08 Member: 7790Members
Yea I kind of found out that the "feel" of the gameplay depends a lot on the server options (dont EVER play on a server with panzerfausts on)... anyways... actually I got through with a round just now with a very funny panzerfaust ending... Me and another guy were axis chasing around the last ally.... I spotted him in an alley headed to his spawn, told my teammate this. He goes head in to kill him, and gets killed. I sneak up behind the spawn, panzerfaust ready.. hear some footsteps in a house... next thing I know theres an ally bunny hopping in front of me, so I 'faust him and myself at 5 seconds left.... ROUND DRAW! WOOT!
