Favorite Music?

So... whats you're favorite music?

God, why do I always feel the need to restate the point of the topic even though the title makes it blatantly obvious?

Anyway...

Mine is kind of a mix. If I like the tune and/or lyrics, I'll get it. I usually don't discriminate by genre (or artist), but I'll take just about any piece of "Swing-Era" Jazz, and pretty much every thing by Enya.

Edit: Oh, and almost anything done by The Beatles. Yellow Submarine = the win.

So, you?

I listen mainly to metal. Favorite metal song of all time would be Iron Maiden's The Educated Fool.

Other type of music I listen to is stuff from anime series ^^. Current most played song is Sister Mayo's Fun Fun & Shout (One to name the series gets a cookie <!--emo&:p--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html//emoticons/tounge.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='tounge.gif' /><!--endemo-->)

there's nothing I can really call my "favorite type of music" I listen to a bit of everything, and if I like it or not depends more on the artist than the genre.

I'ma do what Esuna did, that's a good way to give examples, and to simplify things, I'll do a little genre, sub-genre thing.

    Ska:
    Tutone: Madness
    Third Wave: Citizen Fish, Potshot
Not really a big fan of Trad Ska

    Punk:
    Hardcore: The Virus, The Dwarves
listen to a bit of Pop-Punk when the mood takes me: Green Day, The Ataris
New Wave (I LOOOOVE New Wave): DEVO
Nerdcore (you've probly all heard me touting how much I less than three nerdcore): Nerf Herder, TreePhort, The Mr T Experience, The Aquabats.
A teensy bit of emo now and then, but mostly classic stuff, like The Pixies.

    Metal:
Hair Metal (for the novelty): Quiet Riot, Twisted Sister
Power Metal (for the double bass): Rhapsody, Wizard
I'm not much of a headbanger, so I don't listen to slow metal.

    Rap:
Once again, Nerdcore: MC Hawking, MC Chris, MC Frontalot

And there you go, my anal-retentive musical list!

    Rage Against the Machine <!--emo&:D--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html//emoticons/biggrin.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='biggrin.gif' /><!--endemo-->

And uhh....errr....rwhen the particular feeling hits me(corporate **** I must seem), The Strokes.

Other than that, I'm a fan of some older stuff - George Clinton and the PFunk, The Doors, The Eagles, Yes, Blue ?yster Cult, old-school Metallica. All the general oldie-but goodies <!--emo&:)--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html//emoticons/smile.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='smile.gif' /><!--endemo-->

    hrmm..

well, I like a LOT of genres, I only dislike music when it's totally retarded/'plastic' like
    country
modern pop, modern 'alternative' music, modern punk, modern hip-hop
    vocal trance, euro-house or gabba <!--emo&;)--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html//emoticons/wink.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='wink.gif' /><!--endemo-->
(if you like these genres: sory for calling them retarded!)

    My favourite genres:
60's/70's rock/pop, surfrock, bluesrock, (hard)rock, metal (children of bodom!)
indie, punk (oldschool), 'alternative' (back when it was alternative, early nineties)
ska (mostly non3rdwave), reggae, funk, blues, jazz, soul, dub,
acid jazz, triphop, turntablism, breakbeat, jungle/dnb (saw Ed Rush 2 days ago!!),
electro/'electroclash', idm, goa/psytrance (infected mushroom wheeee),
industrial, new wave, ebm, digital hardcore (a genre of one: atari teenage riot)

And I also like wagner & mozart, all the other classical composers are hacks <!--emo&;)--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html//emoticons/wink.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='wink.gif' /><!--endemo-->

Metal...lots of metal. Death, black, power, hair, it's all good. And rave. And anime music. And orchestral. And game music. I don't think CoD is that great...I mean, they're good and all, but I prefer Opeth. Children of Bodom has great instrumentation, but Opeth has got the vocals just perfect.
