Im looking for a program that makes it possible to play lan games over the internet.

I found some programs for warcrat like LanCraft but and BattleLan but i havent got them to work with the game.

If you know where to find information or a program that makes it possible please post a link or something.

Well every game is defferent, and every game has a different net code so it would be impossible to make a program to play lan games over the internet. And those mentioned programs for warcraft were made so people with pirated copies could play over the internet, and that is not for these forums.

Wait...Lan games online? Like...normal Multiplayer? Or is it different somehow?

    I'm confused.

For either really old games that don't have a real internet multiplayer mode. Or the kind that allow more than 2 players only for LAN (direct connection stuff), which would still be quite old.

Since the difference between implementing LAN and WAN connections is pretty minimal, you'll normally find them together.

Actually, it <i>is</i> possible, if you can code something that fools the program into thinking that your Internet connection is just a really big LAN. Well, in theory it's possible. I haven't heard of it being done, though (not that I've looked).

Sure you have. Remember when everybody was playing Halo before X-Box live existed by connecting through special sofware on a PC? I'm pretty sure that system did this. And I believe they currently do something similar to play MK:DD online too.

Correct me if I'm wrong but wouldn't a simple tunneling application do it fine? I dunno about IPX style games, but for TCP/IP LAN style ones you could prob just set up the ports to tunnel and go --> another thing to look into would be Kali style solutions, if they're still around.
