I think they stopped accepting people. I applied in late december, and STILL no go.

well on fileplanet theres another wave of beta applicatns, only 5000 per week.

even worse though is that my internet connection is currently dead and I can't do any online gaming ;(

Oh, and no the other isn't the WoW beta, its for Ryzom (that is spelled corectly). Its a nifty new (early beta, I hope) mmorpg. The main difference in it is the way the skill system works.
Basicaly, you buy the skill (with skill points) and it is composed of 'bricks'. The Bricks are effects and costs (so you could have the brick of acid dmg and the the cost to balance it out would probably be mana). However, as you get more and more skills you can combine them.
The normal payment bricks are: drain mp, Hp, Ap(action aka stamina), reduce range, increase time.

Now, you start recombining these and you get nifty spells/actions <!--emo&:)--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html//emoticons/smile.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='smile.gif' /><!--endemo-->

(and all of this can be found on their website, thus I aint breaching NDA <!--emo&:p--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html//emoticons/tounge.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='tounge.gif' /><!--endemo-->)

I'm in the Ryzom test as well... except I just can't be bothered installing the latest version of it ^^;

I'm kinda just staying away from MMORPGs from now on until I hear of one that isn't a 'stats play the game, you watch' like all the others -.-

Got into the Beta. I must say it's very polished, but I'm having trouble with PK'ers in high-level mob areas.
