    Greetings all.  I decided after following the development of this mod for over a year and lurking in the forums to finally register an account and make a post.  <!--emo&:)--><img src="http://www.natural-selection.org/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/smile.gif" border="0" valign="absmiddle" alt=':)'><!--endemo-->

    It looks like after a lot of hard effort by the developers and playtesters that things are coming together spendidly for the the v1.0 release.  Great job guys -- and know that I'll be losing interest in the outside world for a few weeks once I get my grimey hands on what looks to be the best mod ever to be produced for HL.

    These points stick out the most.

    A) Blinkfail? Are you keeping somthing from us?
    B&C) Yay! I'm glad you fixed it. I wasn't too happy with what it was before.
    D)Heavy Machine Gun + Jetpack = Apache! Wewt! (Who says there are no vehicles in Natural Selection?)
    E) Mixed feelings on this. I kinda liked the idea of setting up a hive and running away, praying to god some of your teammates respawn before it gets pummeled.

    Anyways, sounds great as usual.  Can't wait to play in two weeks.

    So you can't choose your skincolor with the setskin command anymore? I fail to see the reason why one should not be able to choose their own skincolor, although I suppose there should be some reason for it that I fail to see at this point.

    Anyways, <i>that</i> is a <i>big changelog</i>.  I can only imagine the amount of stress you are under, Flayra.  You are amazing.  You've put almost 3 years of work into this thing and you're not even getting a penny out of it.  I guess all I can give you are my thanks.

    Such a pessimist.  Remember, he owns the Trademark for Natural Selection, not to mention the copyright.  Besides, think of how this will look on his resume.

    Sometimes blinks fail, and you don't get teleported anywhere.  blinkfail.
    How could you have known what it was before if you've never seen it?

    If hives can't be destroyed while building, then an ambitious and lucky builder can run into a marine controlled hive room and start the hive on its way.  Marine defenses can't do anything, and more than likely, the aliens will be able to evolve to higher level creatures in the short time it takes the marines to bring the hive back down.  It screams exploit.

    More importantly regarding attackable unbuilt hives - Turrets *will* lock onto and attack an unbuilt hive, whether or not they can hit it.  This fact can be used to "distract" every turret in a marine base that's set up in a hive... meanwhile, the aliens clear out the turrets at their leisure.

    About the skin thing, i dont see a problem there as you wont know wut skin you have till someone tells you, and there is no point in changing it as you will not see yourself ANYWHERE when youre playing.....

    Glad to hear there is an umbra indicator, I had wondered about that myself. You weakened it again? Oh well, Id wanted to mock the silly marines by dancing round in clouds of umbra... oh well I guess Ill have to do it while dodging a bit more then.

    You can only have a pistol OR a tripmine OR a welder? Or you can only have one of each? I know which makes more sense but its confusing and I just wanna be clear.
