First off. Where do you live?

I don't think you are allowed to work (in Britain) until you are sixteen. At the moment, I'm a Kitchen Porter. I do all the stuff that has to be done in a pretty big kitchen (apart from the cooking of course). I've been doing that since I was sixteen (just under two years now (birthday is 28th June)). (Yes parentheses, I like them )

My parents pushed me into getting a job when I was 15 too, but like BigMadSteve said, I technically wasn't allowed to work (but I'm in the US). We talked to some family friends of ours and got me a job working for them doing financial tracking and bookkeeping. They owned 2 Baskin-Robbins stores, so I recorded all the data for money brought in, what was purchased and all that. Made up Excel tables and whatnot. It was a decent job, and how many people can say they were a bookkeeper / assistant-accountant when they were 15?
Any family friends you can hit up to do some sort of computer work for?

I don't know about the UK, but in the US a lot of insurance companies will not cover employees under the age of 16, so even if its legal for the company to hire you they won't do it because of the insurance. Again, I'm not sure if its that way over there or not, but it might be.

That's probably the case with me. I work in a kitchen, like I already said, which is potentially dangerous so I'm insured. Not that I would intentionally give myself chemical burns or jump into a deep fat frier anyway .

i think the law is you cant get insured until your 16 but u can work at 15 but under certain time restrictions.

i would suggest getting a job at like a supermarket or something, it will be very boring but thats where most people start out.

if u want something different then u can work at B&Q. my friend works there and he get 7.35 an hour

well, if it is ANYTIHNG like the US I would suggest this:

1) Go to your school and ask them what the laws are (in the US it is also the way to get working papers, wich you need if you are a certain age)

2) Make a resume (it dosn't mater if you have no actual job experiance, just putting down skills and nonfamily referances is a good thing)

3) Go to all the local businesses and ask em if they are hiring (simple aint it?)

4) tell your parents and every one you know that you are job hunting (its not what you can do, but who you know that counts)

(I like parens also )

in the US (or at least in CA), minors can work at age 16, normally.

some stores, however, let kids work at 15, if they have a work permit. i've seen an ice cream shop and a sandwich place that have that policy.

well good luck to you =]

I used to work at a bagel bakery, to say the least it sucked. Food service really isnt my thing and I think my boss was just waiting for me to slip up so he could fire me with a semi clear conscience... Even though I was much more efficient at making the food then anybody else working there. But anyway Im looking into either working for like radio shack, or making money off of building computer for people (already had alot of offers, the money wouldnt be all to bad either). And yeah, im only 15 also. Just grab a work permit from your school, then see who you know who has a job that is hiring. Because really your only chance at a young age is if you know sombody to put in a good word.
