Chipset Fan Screws

Yesterday night my computer started to give off rather weird noises, the first time I heard it the thought "b0rked fan" popped up to my mind.
Anyways, after opening the case and removing the video card (it seemed to be the source) the noise is still there, so I check out the North/Southbridge/whichever fan it was. This thing is definitely the source.

But...
how do I get this damn thing off ?

Please tell me that I do not have to remove the entire motherboard to get on the underside to unscrew these bolts (the two black thingies on either side of the fan).

I know not how to remove your chipset heatsink... but do say that you turned the power off before removing said video card, eh? :P

    No, I left it on.
I really like the sound when your finger hits the running fan, and the smell it makes. mmmmmmm
Not mentioning the pain. Man, I love pain.

Depends on mobo. I know mine uses two spring screws... just push them down and it pops off.

Hm. Yeah, you can push them in, but nothing happens.

yeah, I think they(re spring screws. Either that, or look under.

You might want to pass from a fan to a passive heatsink (zalman...) if the noise is bothering you.
