I think you can go to the console still and type in the command... I'm surprised more than one person is angry about this random skin thing.... I mean, I am too, but I wouldn't care less if I didn't have a choice of skin... but it's better if I do.
Edit: I realize the U.S. has some female soldiers, but I'd find it a little odd to see women as gung-ho, interplanetary, space marines....... but then again, it's the Natural Selection universe, and it's not my call.

Yeah the next release says you won't be able to change your skin through the console... But still if you were that into it you could just replace your black skin file with a copy of the white one...

This mod is looking great, and the whole bunch of us in the Off Topic forums of FireArms are looking foreward to this thing. My two cents on the skin thing: Yes, FA(firearms) has cuztomizable skins, ranging from Caucasian, to African American, Asian, Middle Eastern, and Camoflauge, but the first few weeks (and we still get some now...) of the 2.6 release, the version that added those skins, we got a bunch of racists saying things like, (pardon my language) "Woah, cool, I killed a ######/gook/chink/towelhead/<insert other slur here". It's a cool feature to have, because it adds atmosphere, but it's a double-edged sword. The good thing about that was, though, I got to flex my bannage finger with adminmod during those couple weeks. <!--emo&:D--><img src="http://www.natural-selection.org/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/biggrin.gif" border="0" valign="absmiddle" alt=':D'><!--endemo-->
