the answer is the Grey Album (which, by the way, i can't believe you guys haven't discussed yet)
a fusion of epic proportions</cliche> by master DJ Danger Mouse, the Grey Album combines The Beatles' White Album with Jay-Z's Black Album to form.......
VOLTRON!!!
aka really good music
GreyTuesday: click around for info
FTP mirror
oh yeah!! the issue: danger mouse didn't have the permission of the beatles' OR jay-z's label, so is fighting a "downhill battle" with copyright infringement. his crusade is against everything wrong with the music art industry these days. help him out by downloading his music =]
start out with 01 and 02 btw, they're fCKcing awesome.

as for this............
I am scared is all I can say.
I have no liking of JayZ
And I love the Beatles.
(oh, and this would constitute wares btw, so remove the links if you want the topic to stay alive)
I fail to see the implications of comunisim..........
I am going to check this out (if for no other reason then to mock you )
btw, that ftp wither bites or is getting seriously hammered....

as for the communist thing, i was really just defending the music with a loaded word ^_^;
the music should be free to everyone. when you release art to the world, it doesn't belong to you anymore.. it belongs to the world.
so f* you RIAA !!!
stinkin communists.. ^_~
And I was saying to remove em if you don't want your thread locked b/c it sorta violates the forum rules. (yah, know, I am trying to help you out and keep your topic open...)
Now, for the music:
meh
Its mostly just JayZ's vocals overriding samples of The Beatles instrumental pieces.
I see nothing particualrly good about it.
The Lyrics do not mesh to gether (Beatles Vs JayZ), and for the most part JayZ's lyrics are considerably louder then anything else, just basicaly ending you up with a JayZ song.........
I have seen much better.
I think it's sending a message to the record industry when Jay-Z releases an acapella version of his CD specifically for remixing and they go all nuts with the legal action. At least I hope they're getting the picture.
no it doesn't! it's not free in communism because you've gotta go to your stupid job that you didn't want in the first place, and then you have to go to the stupid communal dining hall, and if the music you're listening to says anything about the goverment they just frickin shoot you... aww nevermind.
and they take away all your METAL for their iron project, so how the hell are you gonna play the music anyway unless you can find a 100% synthetic MP3 or CD player ;_;
I am interested in seeing how this all plays out...
I have a feeling alot of the people hosting it are gona get severly raped in lawsuits.
It is an interesting statment (trying to fight the opression of fair use laws... wich is something I can apreciate)
However, my view of the music:
basicaly the songs (I only got up to #3) seem to be JayZ's lyrics imposed over a short sample from a Beatles song. meh.
Seeing how as I don't like JayZ in the least (and what I like about The Beatles the most is their words, wich seem to be almost totaly removed).. meh. Deleted.
/me turns DigitalyImported back on.
instead of just spaming that you don't like it?
(I am honestly curious about peoples take on this now)
