<div class="IPBDescription">sounds for your map.</div> I think that you guys are doing some amazing work with the maps you're making so I thought i might try and help out by lending my voice for some sound effects you people might want. This is an example of what i mean:
<a href='http://enforcer.onestop.net/warnex.wav' target='_blank'>warning</a>
or
<a href='http://enforcer.onestop.net/nexus.wav' target='_blank'>nexus</a>
It might be a computer or a recording that keeps looping on a command console somewhere in the map. I can make it audiable or just a creepy scratchy sound that doesn't make much sense. In any case if you need something just ask and I can sample something for you.
keep up the great work guys. All hail the ns mapper!

ambience sounds are an underestimated item in ns maps (exspecially ns maps!!!).
interesting ambient sounds will make a good map even better, a cool looking map without some cool sounds id just a map, nothing special.
I rather would use the complete entities up to the limit for sounds instead of senseless overlays, doors or whatever.
no, serious: what sounds are you able to create?
I ask for one cause: if the same ambinet sound is used over and over again, it gets boring, new maps with the old sounds dont feel new. know what I mean?
-EDIT-
maybe I can give you some lines, for that talking part that is <!--emo&:p--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html//emoticons/tounge.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='tounge.gif' /><!--endemo--> .
i wish i could do that, but mine has a southern' / in-the-hood accent... and it would sound all messed up...
this thread is specifically for voice audio. I havn't really tried my hand at generator and vehicle sounds. I was thinking more along the lines of you give me lines.. i say them in whatever fashion you want and edit them to sound like you want. I dont really have the samples to create actual ambience sounds.
Hehe, and your girl actually did that?
I'll give you some lines when I need some speeches, OK? It's great having a 'voice' around <!--emo&:)--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html//emoticons/smile.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='smile.gif' /><!--endemo--> .
i was just thinking of that....
i could prolly really use that..

the solution: either ask a friend if he can "borough" his girlfriend to you for this purpose... hm... better dont ask it ^^
OR ask strangers, you never know XD

oh good, some voice waves will do a great job in any map.
but the 2 soundsamples seem to be... they arent "alive", you know. would sound more realistic if the sound would be more hall-like, imagine you are walking through a tunnel and you hear this voice far far away.
NOTE: If you need directional audio for a sound, then it's by definition not an ambient sound. You have to use WAV for those, IIRC.

lol.... you could just ask any female, I doubt you'd have to be going out with her to record her voice.
But my girlfriend, she has this kind of posh accent, which sounds amaaaaazing when recorded through WaveLab <!--emo&:D--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html//emoticons/biggrin.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='biggrin.gif' /><!--endemo-->
Basically, I set up some trigger entities, so when an Alien ran through it, it would set off the sound file, going "alien lifeform detected" or whatever. You could put different ones all over the map, making it incredibly atmospheric.
