It'd be /possible/ that it was not slowed down... but the person who played it would have had to be playing JUST that game for his entire life, and be about 40 or so. With no verbal skills, only using the game to communicate.

I agree with TaleSin on this one. I think that maybe, just maybe this guy has obviously not been outside in like 10 years. It's possible he memorized the levels? Who knows, this guy is a freak. Case Closed.

Slowed down, or scripted. (another possibility you see? ) but not at realtime methinks.

So far the only good one Ive seen is that japanese Kid doing that "hit the color coded button that coorisponds with falling the block on the screen to make a musical note" arcade game.
The kid missed some but it was pretty close.
Now that takes skill. Only took the kid 3 years of non stop playing to do it too. lol

yah, its amusing to watch... but not nearly as fun when you know how it is done:
The game is slowed down alot, and they use save states, alot. (this is stated on the web page I originaly found it on)
It isn't nearly as cool as the Metroid [EDIT]PRIME[/EDIT] Done quick, wich relies purly on skill with out the slow down (yes, he playes each section for a couple days, but still )

O.o

One problem -- this is done in Japan. *points at the url and language used on the site*
And it's obvious that he used some kind of program to slow the game down. I mean... how the hell?!

Yeah it was interesting to watch but i get the impression that something like this can be easily faked via an Emulator. (Anyone remember the Mario Bros 3 video, someone finished the game in something like 8 minutes but because the homepage was in Japanese no-one could read the part where the author said he had used multiple Emulator based saves and slow-down techniques.)
I doubt its humanly possible to react as fast as that, especially that Volcano part. I'm probably wrong though, what do I know
This, along with the mario bros. 3 video, and several others were done by Morimoto. In fact, when that video had its 15 minutes of fame this one already existed. They are faked, using the Famtasia emulator slowed down to 1/30th(?) speed with gratuitous save state usage. This is not a secret, Morimoto never claimed to have done it any other way. You can get more such great videos (via your friend Bittorrent) at Bisqwit's NES Bittorrent Video Downloads.
BTW. that page has a Metroid timeattack done in 17 minutes!!
Oh, and last time I started a Morimoto thread Doom linked to a nifty tetris video... maybe he'll do it again...

LOL I've never seen the SMB3 or Metroid one, but this one looks crazy....especially the volcano part, which could only be done with Famtasia or all-mighty h4x0r alchohol drik (yes I said alchohol)

sory, I didn't mean that metroid
ment prime (silly me forgot to say) (the one that I tihnk quake done quick hosts)
Also, I tihnk it was a couple days/weeks per section (aka, area between actual saves)
silly me
and yah, is if you look down at bisqwit's you see that it is using save states and slow downs, thus making it less interesting often (the metroid one is sorta cool if only for the way they skip most of the game)
