Why Were Alien Abilities Nerfed?

<div class="IPBDescription">I'm looking for some logic here...</div> Okay I'm looking at all this. Some of these abilities were nerfed for balance. Others? They were nerfed for <b>no reason at all</b> (Webs, Acid Rocket). <b><i><u>WHY?</u></i></b> Every version it gets worse and worse. What's next, reduce hive hitpoints to 600?

- Hive - Healing was nerfed, then 'fixed'. I have my suspicions, but what heals faster? 2.0 hive regeneration or 3.0 hive regeneration?

- Alien Flashlight - Technically was unchanged. However, advanced hivesight and pheremones were two 'sensory-type' dealies that were removed for lack of usefulness. Now aliens only have scent of fear. They still can't see in the dark, and AHS would've been a nice compensation. So this is borderline nerf/laziness.

- Redemption - As far as I can tell, unchanged.
- Regeneration - Nerfed. Just doesn't compare to 2.0 regeneration.
- Carapace - Slightly improved with the 'hive level survivability'.

- Celerity - Unchanged.
- Silence - Unchanged.
- Adreneline - Unchanged.

- Focus - Unchanged.
- SoF - Unchanged.
- Cloak - This is sad. What, 6 seconds to cloak when standing still? That's pathetic. It was pointless. I'm too lazy to check the changelog but am I wrong in thinking that the % of cloak got reduced as well? I want to say 80% cloak when moving.

- Bite - Unchanged
- Parasite - Used to have massive range at one point. Now I think a bilebomb goes farther.
- Leap - FPS-dependancy removal ruined leap's damage. It STILL sucks.
- Xeno - Har har! Hive 3 ability and you can't even kill one engame vanilla marine with it.

- Spit - Unchanged
- Heal - Unchanged. I heard some people say that they think the range was nerfed, but unconfirmed.
- Bilebomb - Actually one of the only abilities that was IMPROVED!
- Webs - Crappy-**** limit put on them, allowing only half as many in play on the entire map.

- Fade Slash - Long ago used to do 95 damage. Now it does 80. Still kills marines, but just makes it take longer to kill buildings. Quite pathetic since Fade is the electrified RT counter.
- Blink - 1.04 - Useful, but buggy. Quite cool. 2.0 - No buginess, but lost ability of coolness. 3.0 - Crap. Takes a ton of stamina so you can hop twelve feet forward. Whacks your heads on roof beams because you catapult twenty feet in the air. Runs about 2/3rds as fast as 2.0 blink. WHY WAS THIS NERFED? This just makes Fade even MORE irritating for new players to play.
- Metabolise - Actually got more useful. However, with more fade health, takes much longer to heal damage with this. So technically, it got a nerf in the form of never being beefed to compensate.
- Acid Rocket - Please... undoubtably the poster child for pointless nerfs... half damage, double ROF for no reason besides it's "fun", despite the fact that this means you can only do half damage with a full stamina salvo of rockets?

- Onos Gore - Damage used to be 120, double to structures. Now it's something like 90, dbl to structures.
- Stomp - Duration is stupidly short now, actually managed to avoid a nerf in the area where it needed it most: THE RANGE OF STOMP.
- Devour - Really unchanged, but any weapon that has a MINIMUM distance to use, and requires yoga-like precision and agility, is a pretty bugged weapon.
- Charge - A very sad ability, nerfed with FPS-dependancy removal.

    Maybe because aliens seem to be winning more. (Not that I agree it's the right approach. Meh.)

I can't argue with some of those. But a lot of them had nothing to do with game balanace. Charge was sickeningly overpowered. But it got nerfed, now it's incredibly worthless. Webs? What the hell decided that suddenly, the only useful third hive ability should suck in some form as well? It's despicable that they nerf features just to have fun nerfing. "OLO LETS SCREW ACID ROCKET TODAY!" But marines, they've successfully avoided the nerf bat since 2.0.

    Aliens: "OMG This guy is complaining about webs! Nerf Nerf!"

    Marines: "OMG About a thousand people are complaining about electricity! Ignore them all and make it do TRIPLE damage to aliens for.. uh... BALANCE!"

    webs nerfed for server cpu usage (to my understanding)

    acid rocket is being looked at



    and to end the flames (mostly yours towards the development team) i'm locking this. all those things were nerfed and there is still a slight favor of the game for the aliens side.. go play the game, and take out your anger there please.
