Well, it's been several days since the latest Steam update and the subsequent DDOS attack upon the valve/steam servers. And I STILL cannot get in game to play some NS. I can open Steam, I can scan for servers, filter out the ones I want, double-click to join, and no matter the mod, it tries updating Half-Life prior to booting it, and then tells me there is an [unspecified by the bloody software] error and to "try again later." I've "tried again later" for the last three days to no effect. I tried slogging through the mess that is the steampowered.com forum, but there is nothing even remotely akin to an informed suggestion coming from anyone related to Steam on there, so was hoping maybe someone had bumped into the problem and (hopefully) found a fix for it.
I know the content servers were hit hard by the amount of stress put on them between the update and DDOS, but there are plenty of people playing given the time of day it is, so I really am at a loss.

you get compleatly generic window that says "error" and thats it?
cmon, be a little bit more descriptive (windows msg vs steam msg, exact words etc)
also, have you restarted steam/rebooted your computer since then?
It's the size of normal windows pop-up window, but skinned and provided by Steam. I have rebooted both computer and steam.
Generaly the fix for this is to either wait or restart/reboot alot....
It isn't (last time I checked) a problem on your end, exept that you comp might be trying to connect to a dead content server.
Aside from that, I have never gotten the msg, thus don't know any other fixes, sory mate.
