Stop Sieging Data From Proccesing.

1. Spores and bile bomb own you in that little room.
2. if you have heavies, the onos can use that platform that goes up there to rape you and since its so small they can stomp you after eating a rine, and do the same.

Just a warning to a comm thats gunna try it when the aliens have 2 hives

You're thinking of the wrong side of processing.
The inside of processing, with the lower res nozzle, is the place to be. Gorges can bilebomb from a vent, yes, but you can shoot them most of the time. And, hand grenades reach up there.
It's also good vs onos since they get blocked by turrets and have to spend half their offensive time manouvering. Means they die lots faster, with less marine losses.

It's STILL possible to siege vent and data from proc. so I see NO REASON EVER to stop using it

This is like saying: don't try to attack because you might fail.

Other than clear cheapass lame tactics? But fair enough if your losing badly and they have 3 hives. But a early reloc and lock down there = sux0r.

How is taking a vital area of a map cheap?

erm ...... IIRC, i lost one of my first 3.0b3 comm games on hera, because -

No one told me Ventilation hive is not in range of sieges anymore, at least from lower processing (Yes, i have planted them RIGHT in the bits where it should reach - only they didnt. after that, another comm had the same problem so i assure you: you cannot siege vent from proc any longer.)

as for DCD, i use the upper platform near the upper proc pg but meh, all of those hives are a **** to siege. Stupid Stupid Stupid map ...
Bin Hera for all i care, i never liked it in 2.0, and i like it even less in 3.0 because its 90% marine wins all the time.

I did it in B2, maybe it was fixed in b3?

I still think it's possible, I'll have to experiment a little

It still works - 2 hives can be sieged. Vent can be hit from there. Data as well. So if you are a marine, why wouldn't you?

Don't limit yourself from useful strategies simply because you believe it is lame.
Keep your options open, or you may find that you dont have any options at all.

Processing is still the biggest deathtrap ever though

So it should be! You can siege 2 hives from the same general location. It SHOULD be hard to take!

Hera is now one of the most interesting maps because you see things happen that don't normally happen. Some people have been complaining about the lack of mid-games, ie. HA/HMG fighting multiple onoses. With eleven RTs and easy access between the hives, you see many games with 3 hives and fully teched marines happen quite quickly. Still, its openness and brightness give marines a clear edge, and now that you can get to Cargo from MS and have that extra RT by Maint, Hera Reception is no longer an important location (thank god...). IMO Processing and Holoroom could stand to be tweaked a touch to give aliens more of an advantage... still I've seen plenty of alien victories where the marines get complacent because they have 5 nodes, tech up, and get slaughtered by 3-hive higher lifeforms. Still, sieging Data from that 2nd story platform in Proc along the wall is really hard to stop, the only thing that can do it are 2-3 good fades.

processing is pretty hard to lock down seeing as the quickest way there is a dimly lit corridor with boxes strewn about and a slow elevator ride that divides rines into shrink wrapped snackysnak cakes.. anyway you look at it ,, if the aliums start in data theres about 1 percent chance to take it, if they start in vent theres about 1 percent chance to take it if the aliens are dumb as a rock. its a well balanced map seeing as theres lots of open corridors and lots of vent shafts all over i loev it

..or you could just run through cargo and make it there in less than 1 minute.
