help me choose!
I have to read a book for my book report thing, and I need help choosing. Anyways, it has to be a fiction novel that's 200 pages, and is by an American author. Also, I want it to be a happy book. You know, one that cheers you up. I need one of them novels.
Comments
'Prey' by Michael Crichton
'Rainbow Six' by Tom Clancy
'Jesus Freaks' both volumes I & II, arranged by DC Talk
'A Walk to Remember'(author's name forgotten)
The Halo book series, mainly by Eric Nylund(REALLY GOOD!)
It is is he made a typo and meant 4321928 pages.
oh, american author? nevermind. I stand by harry potter being a happy book tho =p I mean, it's a kids' book so it's not exactly hard-hitting and depressing...
hmm, happy and american... laff, I have an odd perception of 'happy' but I thought Hannibal was a happy book. It had a really satisfying, grim irony to it, and the ending was awesome (the movie's ending was garbage in comparison)...
it's true though -- not many good books are happy books. go read chicken soup for the soul if you want a happy book.

The kids parents were killed by an evil wizard who now wants to kill him and he's been living with humans who despise his very being. Happy?
Negative.
Catcher in the Rye [275 Pages] J.D. Salinger
A Wrinkle in Time [211 Pages] Madeleine Lengle
The Call of the Wild [210 Pages] Jack London
The Hiding Place [241 Pages] Corrie Ten Boom
Well, that's about all I know of off-hand...
EDIT: Er... you said an American Author didn't you? Oops...
