Sounds Cut Eachother Off

When there are a lot of sound effects flying around (usually when the action gets heavy or there are too many bleeping gun turrets), they start to cut each other off. It gets really annoying when the soft bleep of a gun turret cuts off the sound of an explosion. I've tried increasing the sound buffer size in the console (don't really know what that does) and it didn't help. Is there any way to increase the number of sound channels or something?

(P.S. I have a Sound Blaster Live 5.1 sound card, and I do have their latest drivers)

    I think everyone has that problem and in all HL MODs. NS tends to spam more noises than most other MODs.

    If you set developer 1 you would get the message ">16 voices playing" or something like that whenever sounds get interupted.
