Realone

<div class="IPBDescription">Way to screw up my system</div>Highlander was begging me to see the new Lord of the Rings video so I downloaded RealOne and since my comp has never been the same.  Ever since the install (I then uninstalled and went into my registry to delete the folder) of Realone I cannot download things from webpages (peer to peer still works) and I cannot view flash websites.  The flash never loads.  Yes, I have cable so its not my connection.  Has this happened to anyone before?  I hear its not uncommon.

RealOne is an agent of the D3V1L, and I have installed it only once on my machine.  Thankfully, I didn't have the problems you've mentioned... that sounds truly awful.  Wish I could help.  ):

SS, not having had this problem,I can only offer adive on what might work. You could uninstall and reinstall your browser (I'm assuming Internet Explorer) in order to repair any damaged registry settings. Depending on the version of IE you run, there may also be an option to simply 'repair' it as well from add/remove programs. Either one would like repair the damage.

they're are a few other programs that do that.

I can only think of ICQ right now, oh, and those desktop buddies.  Desktop "Buddies".

I still have Realone installed on my comp, works fine for me.  It over-rided my defaults, but I set them all back to WindowsMediaPlayer, which also everyone seems to hate.  What's so good about WinAmp?  I didn't do anything to my browser though...

In order to do what Jedi said I had to go to add/remove, then select it.  However IE isnt on the add/remove list.  :-/ ogog realone.

*edit* well I reinstalled IE.. :-/ I hear that using a download manager can override this problem.. /me goes off to get one
