Problem With Input Channels

<div class="IPBDescription">When i start ns</div> When i start NS it insists upon changing my microphone channel from line in - 1/mic to wave input, which renders my ventrilo useless and only sends the others voices and ingame sounds to the server.
this only occours when i use NS and not any of the other mods i play, it is fairly irritating because i have just started playing pcw and i have to manually change it right after i start NS, i have been looking for config commands that could change this but havent found any in the initial config.
Anybody have a solve?
-amd 2500 barton
-1024 ram
-audigy 2 zs platinium pro (with updated drivers as per monsiurevil)
-running xp
-NS version 3 beta 3
-Steam
Note, i have no problems in other steam programs only NS
