Question On Onos/fade

It seems when their armor is completely down you'll die to anything in mere seconds, a pubbie claimed he had 600 HP to 0 when his armor went to 0 after he was being shot at. (He was JUST turning the corner from HMGs I saw personally)


He was an onos of course.

How does this work out?

    Armor absorbs a lot of damage. It's calculated a bit differently than it was in 2.01 so that you cannot run out of health before armor. A single hmg could easily do 600 damage in a second or so.

    I've noticed that armor tends to be worth twice the listed value. For instance, it takes 13 lmg bullets to kill a carapaced skulk, but armor + hp = 100 for them.

    So, health and armor go down slow on your HUD, but once armor is gone, there's 2/3 of the damage absorption, kiss your HP goodbye.

    Does anyone else prefere the 2.0 armour system? I Miss it.... it was far more intuitive, you could see at a glace how much health you had left, and medspam/regen could get you up to full strength quickly, until your armour eventually gave out. The new system is rather odd... If I was a marine I wouldn't expect my kevlar armour to be compleatly destoryed until I had been badly wounded and healed a couple of times. This way everything is in HA bascially....

    300, actually; 390 if fully upgraded.

    10 pellets x 21 dmg I think. But that might be outdated knowledge. Somewhere thereabouts at least

    Shottie does 160 damage base. As far as I know that's 8 pellets of 20 damage each.

    Your are all wrong about shotty dmg. A shotty fires 10 pellets with 17 dmg each. Thats 170 not 160.

    Yeha once you are out of armor on any lifeform, you are pretty much fodder.as onos, try to stay out of fights unless you have at least 200 armor

    600HP on an Onos.
    HMG does 26 dmg per shot at LVL 3

    600/26 = ~23

    Fire 25 shots from a HMG and thats how quickly 600HP's goes, it aint long at all =)

    firing an HMG at an ONOS is the same thing as hitting <!--emo&:p--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html//emoticons/tounge.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='tounge.gif' /><!--endemo-->
