    Change as of Version 3.0

    Could have been just with Beta 3, but I think it started on Beta 1.

    Lol yeah I think it was part of the last changelog or the one before it. Always funny watching someone on your team whos said they were going onos, they are at like 98 res and you say " Dude are you going onos or what, they are only 75 res?" Their reply <span style='font-size:21pt;line-height:100%'>'D O H !'</span>

    Yes, I've speced a few people with close to 100 res and I was wonderin "WTH are you doing?" Want to know worse? I see people go gorge first before hoarding for 100 res. All they do is walk around and do nothing until they get 100.

    The reason why the onos cost has been reduced is because of the new onos hitbox. Or the "walking bullet magnet" as some like to call it.

    It's like trying to shoot a semi truck at 20 paces, it's not like you're going to miss.

    Too easy, actually <!--emo&;)--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html//emoticons/wink.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='wink.gif' /><!--endemo--> When compared to fade, he doesn't even have a good chance to escape -being slow as he is. Onos really isn't worth 75 res.

    The problem is that the fade is too good... Ever since they put this new style of blink, to fix the stuck issues, the fade has been like a lerk with more HP. Maybe they could nerf it the same way they nerfed the jetpack (same style of problem) increase the adrenalen but decrease the force and lower adren recover time.

    I like the fade fine just the way it is now. They go down easy enough if you are actually hitting them. The only problem is that the acid rocket is a bit weak. I mean 11 direct hits to take down a lvl3 LA marine is a bit much.

    75 res?!?!? <!--emo&???--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html//emoticons/confused.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='confused.gif' /><!--endemo-->

    <span style='font-size:30pt;line-height:100%'><b>WHAT?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!</b></span>

    Edit: Speaking of fade's blink, how about if you could only blink in a straight line?
    I.E. No more flying round corners and in circles round the room like something out of CTHD.

    IMO Onos is really overpowered against light weapons, but underpowered against heavy weapons.
  • EmseeEmsee Join Date: 2003-05-23 Member: 16644Members, Constellation
    I don't think it's possible for an onos to be overpowered against light weapons. I mean that like saying Lvl3 weap and armor HA/HMG is over powered against skulks.

    Imo a 1 hive onos should be able to take on about 4 lvl1 LA/LMG marines at once and he can, just. . The main problem that marines have is when onos battles take place in relativly short narrow corridors, due to teammates blocking fire and lack of space for evading the wide range of gore. Though with a good tactical position ie spread out, prefereably up a ladder for one or two of them, the onos will take alot of damage before he gets into range and we all know the problems they can have navigating obstacles.

    At tier 3 however, one or two hmgs can tear through most onos like paper.

    Do the Skulks the same trick sv_airmove 0 them both (only the Lerk should have that much control in the air) <!--emo&::skulk::--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html//emoticons/skulk.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='skulk.gif' /><!--endemo--> <!--emo&::fade::--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html//emoticons/fade.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='fade.gif' /><!--endemo--> <!--emo&::lerk::--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html//emoticons/lerk.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='lerk.gif' /><!--endemo-->

    hmm im usually go onos if they have HA. If they don´t have HA im going Fade cause you live much longer as a Fade in the new version. blink,swipe,blink
    In Combat im always goin onos caus ethe maps are very small and marines have HA very soon. <!--emo&::onos::--><img src='http://www.natural-selection.org/forums/html//emoticons/tiny.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='tiny.gif' /><!--endemo-->
